Minicamp next week open to public?

Next Friday is my birthday, and, as I took the day off, I can't imagine a much better way to spend it then to go out to Redskins Park for Minicamp. Just wondering, does anyone know if this is open to the public?

Last time I was out there was during Snyder's "pay to watch practice" experiment. What a circus that was...

Minicamp is not open to the public...only training camp in the summer.

There was no charge last year, and there will be no charge this year for training camp

PS, happy b-day...cheers

Don't forget one thing too - Gibbs gets paranoid around camp time - he will have some practices open... some shut - there won't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, but I think I remember there being a larger percentage of camp practices closed to the public than most teams...

Gibbs gets real protective of some stuff - probably where he is throwing in some of the new twists - be interesting to see if he does the same this year or if he will be more open til he remembers his paranoia ::grin::

I seem to recall him keeping a closed camp more often then not. Don't know for sure, but I believe I've read about it.

Well crapola, that sucks. I was really hoping to be able to get a glimpse of Gibbs' first days back out on the field.

Btw....am I dreaming, or is JOE FREAKIN' GIBBS really our head coach again???

I just can't get it through my skull....I keep expecting to wake up and turn on the news to hear Spurrier say something about "Osaka."

This is exactly what I was telling Jake not too long ago. He told me that I had Joe confused with George Allen. I might have thrown some "Spies in the trees" reference in there. 8) Joe does not like to tip his hand. He'd've pooped a brick if Snyder had pulled that "NFL Experience" thing while Gibbs was the coach. When you charge admission, anyone can attend. Many, many did. Most were scouts and rivals.

but if it's free, scouts from other teams aren't 'allowed' to attend? seems kind of hokey to me. if i'm a dallas scout, i wipe the coke off my face, finish the last of my dozen donuts, and walk into camp pretending to be a skins fan. maybe i don't take notes, because i can't really spell anyway, but i'd stuff whatever i could into my little brain and take it back with me.

I was under the impression that there was some code of conduct prohibiting teams from infiltrating another teams camp and/or practices. I think Dan Snyder charged admission to practices. I remember reading that, so long as Dan Snyder was charging admission to the practices, scouts and rival reps could attend. Maybe it had to do with videotaping or something ? I don't know, exactly. What I do know is that they turned out in force, and that they were allowed to do that. Can somebody clue me in on that ?
