A lot of people taking the Lions this week...

3 of 8 ESPN analysts are on the Lions bandwagon this week. Schlereth actually is picking the Skins, thats a surprise. Scouts Inc. has the skins being better in every position except WR, yet they also pick the lions to win. I think the redskins have to be the most polarizing team, as some people think they are playoff caliber, while some think they'll lose to the lions. I guess one week of getting fumblitis and the drops turns you into the worst team in the league. Personally, I really don't see a loss coming. I think a bad offense and an above average defense will usually beat a pathetic offense and a pathetic defense.

All of the "experts" below have picked the lions to win Sunday. As you can see they are geniuses when it comes to picking the winning team Rolling Eyes

It seems to me like the Redskins are in a very tenuous position right now. I could see things going awry very quickly if something on offense doesn't click soon. At the same time, the team is keeping their head down and working hard, so I can see things really taking off if they can just get a little traction.

No opinion from me on how likely each scenario is, though.

If we lose to the Lions, things could get ugly in Washington fast. This is our perfect opportunity to execute and build confidence.

If the Redskins loose to the lions this week, you are right, things could get really ugly real fast. If the Redskins loose, I would not be surprised at all to see Zorn gone at the bye week. It is not likely but it would not surprise me.

I mean, its one thing to think the lions have a chance, I think there is a chance they win. It's completely different to actually pick them to win. They haven't won since two seasons ago. The skins won last week. The lions are pathetic in every facet of the game except WR. At least the skins are halfway decent on one side of the ball. They have faced two good O-lines thus far, and are going to terrorize the lions, who probably have the worst line in the league.

Okay, who got access to brad's account? There's a positive point of view in this post. I thought that was a violation of the rules to use another person's account.

Ha, I'm not sure how positive a statement it is that I'm picking a win over the lions.

Basically, this. A win like last year's win is nothing to celebrate. I'm hesitant to try to say the team needs a blowout, but anything less than a win that addresses the weaknesses shown by the offense isn't going to begin to answer any of the very legitimate questions people have about whether this team can contend.

I agree with that, Paralis.

The Skins do need a big win. They need to be building confidence now before the games get really difficult the second half of the season.

I'm picking the Lions, seriously. The Skins offense just can't score but Detroit can. The team with the most points wins, right? It's not that I want them to win, but if I had to pick a winner, it would be the Lions.

No one thinks the Skins are playoff caliber and when Zorn is a mess (I'd have to take you out of the game Sonny) and the team is getting booed at home... the whole team is a shambles.

I'd be perfectly fine if they lost to the Lions, because I want a top college QB next season. Snead? Tebow? Bradford?

180

I've done a complete 180 on this team. I think this is the week they start to put it together and make a run which will include beating Carolina and not losing until the Saints game. I am often right and mostly ignored so take my ramble for what it's worth.

Beating the Lions certainly will be something this team can celebrate.

Sure they haven't won a game since 2007, but it's not like they haven't been putting points on the board. Every time I see their score, they've put up 20 points.

This team is in desperate need of a win, they are playing at home, and the Redskins certainly look like a team they can beat.

If Jim Zorn hasn't fixed the Redzone playcalling, the Redskins could very well be the Lions first win in nearly two years.

The way I see it any win that shows improvement in execution over last week is encouraging. One thing I notice people overlooking is exactly where the Rams coach came from. Spagnuolo was the d-cord for the Giants the last two years and spent 8 years prior to that as a defensive assistant for the Eagles. It's possible that a familiarity factor with the Redskins personell played some part in our troubles scoring.

I'll never understand the mentality that turns it all in like this. But that's OK, because I've also I've come to peace with the idea that I'll never understand it.

I'm picking the Skins, seriously. The Skins have stopped cold every offense they've encountered but Detroit hasn't. The team with the most points wins, right? I know, I know, I want them to win, but still, if I have to pick a winner objectively, it would be the Skins.

This is not a scientific poll. My pick is certainly not scientific.

My pick is not objective.
My pick is not subjective.
My pick is not adjective.
My point is not interjective

I am a FAN and I pick the Skins to win PERIOD. Read it my Hognostications EVERY week.

You may be right. But I have no confidence in this offense and until this offense scores points it's gonna be just like it has been.

So your pick isn't even subjunctive, then!

Unfortunately I live in southeast MI, and I'm picking the Loins for this reason: my dislike for the city of Detroit (which nearly equals my dislike for Snyder). The game is blacked out in the Detroit market since they can't sell any tickets - how awesome would it be for Detroit's first win to occur during a week when no one can see it?!! I think I'd rather see a Detroit win during a blacked out game than a Skins blowout on national TV right now. Go Loins!!

I'm sure the Lions fans would gladly turn off their TVs anyways if they knew it would result in a win. "redskins fans" who do not root for their skins week in and week out no matter what are not ACTUALLY Redskins fan. You, sir, are not a true fan. And to those of you rooting for a top draft pick next year, SHAME ON YOU.
