I'll be honest in how i feel. i never expected us to win big this season. this is a good chance for us to get younger. bath rhinehart in the fire and hopefully he stands up to it. im hoping this turns into a positive.

And, with this being the second year in a row with the same injury ... there's concern he might be done, period.

Is Rinehart even gonna play? They had that other guy in there today.

I completely agree. Might as well see if there's a young guy who can help in the future.
Btw, I'm almost irritated that we won today, it's taking us further out of the QB sweepstakes.

The only thing wrong with Campbell is Zorn's insistence against all probability that the Skin's can run the ball in red zone's. They can't and Zorn is an idiot.

Rinehart didn't dress (hopefully because he only plays tackle). Montgomery plays T, G, and C so they dress him as a game-day substitution, where Chad will probably get the start next week.

Well that's encouraging. It didn't help the run game that Montgomery was getting trounced all day.

Brutha, the list is a lot longer than that.

Yeah I'm a big Randy Thomas fan. But I agree with you about Rhinehart. It would be nice to see to get this guy in there. He's not getting any better sitting on the sidelines, that's for sure.

Agreed. And to be honest, there's been some legitimate concerns surrounding the o-line coming into the season. But I think they've done pretty good thus far. Just hoping however that everyone else can stay healthy. Not sure they can over the 16 game season, but still hoping nonetheless.

They are saying that Thomas' injury is on the opposite side than last year.
But we are going to get younger. It will also be good to get these guys some experience against lesser talent compared to the end of the season against really good dominant teams.

Isn't this the same injury that had his OUT for one year? Tsk tsk tsk...

Because Chad only plays the one position, while Montgomery plays three. Monty is the game-day sub. Chad will be the starter next week.

OK, my opinion, Thomas has seen his last days as a Redskin.
He will be cut and sent out to pasture.
He is injury prone in his old age and we MUST GET YOUNGER. Check the waiver wire for some young stud or groom one of our own.

Well, looks like we'll find out whether Rhinehart is going to work for us. -Fingers crossed- Not the best of circumstances.

I wouldn't be surprised if we signed someone off our, or someone else's practice squad this week.

Let's get someone off of the Lion's squad. Maybe we can get some inside info and we'll actually be able to come out with a "W".

Welcome back, Pete Kendall. It would be ironic if we sign him after the Rams game considering what happened with him at the Rams game last year.

Oh!!!
What a surprise ...
But we did not know about the high potential for injuries ...
But we did not know about their age ...
But the preseason was promising ...
But we never knew until the season starts ...
But some of us are a bunch of pessimists because we called it on time ...
But we are so negative to make the Front Office ACCOUNTABLE for ignoring glaring holes in the roster ...
Well as a matter of FACT, we are right and you are wrong. This is REALITY. This is the RECORD. This is who we are, no amount of wishful thinking, hoping and dreaming can overcome REALITY.
This team is not a disaster. It will stil win some games, some will be better and others as ugly as the one against the Rams yesterday. This team is where the realistic posters in this website knew they would be: In the middle of another MEDIOCRE season.
All of the arguments about filling gaps with expensive acquisitions at the expense of balance and depth stand valid today more than ever.
Blind optimism does not make a fan to become a better fan. Realistic assessments and expectations should not be confused with pessimism if they do not meet the dreams and high expectations of others.

We are 1/8 of the way through the season, not 1/2. Don't count your gloating chickens before they hatch, RiC.

Do you mean to say that notwithstanding the evidence and the facts available you feel that this team is ready for Playoffs?
I am not asking about hoping or dreaming. You are a serious poster. I respect you highly. Please enlighten me:
Why is the OL going to get better?
And as a consequence:
Why is JC going to get better?
Why is our non-existent running game going to get better?
Why are our receivers going to get better?
How is Jim Zorn going to trust JC to develop a passing game?
We KNEW we needed to get a good OL to win the battle in the trenches. We needed extra protection for a slow and indecisive QB. We needed holes for our running game. The receivers need time to complete their routes. How is this goingto happen now?
We used to have a running game. Where is it? Everybody knows that we run behind Sammuels now. Our opponents will fix that.
And, for the RECORD, I am not gloating. It causes me great pain, even more than your disappointment because some of us saw it coming.

No I'm just saying there is still a chance for them to get it together. A W is still a W. The 2000 Ravens won a SB with a pathetic offense that went like five or six games straight without scoring an offensive TD. We have a great defense, and anything can happen on any given Sunday. You are already dooming them to a mediocre season after two games. You may not be gloating, but you are saying "I told you so." And a bit prematurely, IMO.

You said "gloating" in your previous post. Thanks for the correction.
However, I did put some questions based on the problems faced at OL. I see that yourresponse to those questions were:
... "any given Sunday"
Somehow, I would feel more reassured about putting more ammunition into our collective hope if you had any ideas or substance about those questions.

I think our line has performed well enough through these two games. I feel comfortable with Rinehart going for Thomas at RG, from his performance in the pre-season. And hopefully we can bring in another vet, or even a PS guy, to back-fill the hole in our depth at that position. We can move the ball between the 20s, even on good teams, as we have all seen, so that tells me the offense is not really as bad as some make it out to be. The trouble is in the red zone, and I feel that mainly falls on Zorn's play calling. I have to believe that is a correctable problem.
