I know a win is a win, but I just don't know how we're supposed to feel good about this one. That had to be THE most pathetic display of redzone offense I've ever seen.

a few of my thoughts from the game...
1) can't believe Seattle could put up 28 points on this team, and we could only put up 9 = PATHETIC
2) did the Rams change the D coverage on

ey in the 2nd half, or did JZ come out of the locker room more stupid than he went in, and decided to stop throwing to

ey?
3) it's pretty bad when your ST coach knows more about clock management than your HC... only thing that would not have made me drop my head in disappointment is if Danny Smith actually tackled JZ, that would have been great...
4) I think in the 2nd half, Orakpo showed improvement, and is getting more comfortable; still would rather see him line-up as DE more
5) Griffin played great, couldn't have asked for more...
6) Horton continues to show that he can play at this level
7) oh yeah, Carlos Rogers played terrible today, let a no name WR show him up...

As I said, the obvious, while we closed the gameday thread, Zorn needs to try at least one safe pass down close with Kelly, D. Thomas, F. Davis, and

ey. A pass that's either caught by our big guy or overthrown out of bounds.
Overall, the stats don't match the score. This doesn't look like a nice present for the fans on the first home-game.
Is Al Saunders available?

A win isn't a win when u can't even score a TD against the Rams. Lol not even one.

It is all too obviously that our Red Kryptonite Zone O is atrocious. That is how you end up with a stat line like this.
Passing CP/AT YDS TD INT
J. Campbell 23/35 242 0 0
On face value you might think that looks pretty good.
Note the TD column. Zero, None, Nada. Zilch.
Skins = 9 points.
I'm almost scared to think about next week's game against the Lions. The Lions actually look like they have some life in them, even though they aren't winning. atleast they can score some TD's.

I think most agree about the lousy red zone offense, and that's on Zorn. Welch said it in the other thread, find a way to get the ball to one of our tall receivers in the end zone. They throw the ball well between the 20's and move it down the field with ease by using the passing game. Once inside the 10 yard line, he immediately gives up on the pass game and tries to run it, when the defense clearly sees it coming. Just awful coaching inside the red zone.

The lions scored over 10 points today. Lmao Zorn better bring his A game.

I'm afraid this was Zorn's A game!

But in all fairness Chris, both Sellers and Thomas did drop TD passes. If they had simply held onto those passes, Campbell's numbers and the offense's output would look a whole lot different. But I agree. While it appears the players stepped up their games for most of the day, Zorn clearly needs to step up his play calling.

At least Z is taking responsibility and the blame for not scoring in the Red Zone on the postgame.

And they scored 27 last week vs the Saints. The Skins could definitely lose to the Lions next week.

Good, because it's on him.
Now, I don't expect every short coming to be fixed in one week, but save for the horrible red zone play calling, the offense did look a lot better this week moving the ball. That's at least somewhat encouraging.

You're right. Aside from his play calling, his player management is still atrocious, as it was last year.
Having Moss in on the redzone is retarded. It was retarded last week and still is today. Why would they even bother to cover Moss? They stacked for the run and stopped us. Zorn is stupid and can't run a NFL game but thats what you get when you make a QB coach a HC....

While I agree we should proceed with caution, in all fairness, the Saints
have no defense. But the Lions do look better and covering Calvin Johnson is going to be a real challenge.

No we will be fine, I can see us holding them to a very respectable 17 points. I think they'll score at least 13 points.
The question is, how much will we score?

Zorn's playcalling in the red zone is what killed this offense. We didn't have a play bigger than 25 yards. The dinking and dunking needs to go. Not sure if this is a result of the play calling or JC, but it needs to end.

Actually, Robinson showed up hall more than rogers. I actually thought Rogers did a pretty respectable job on Avery. Didn't hear much from him.

It's a bit of both. Jason can't throw a pass further than 25 yards, so Zorn is screwed either way.

Quite the positive outlook. At this rate, we will be 8-8, as long as we play arguably the WORST team in the NFL every other week.

Our D has been put on the spot every week for years now. The offense has gotten so bad at putting points on the board that the D almost has to pitch a shout-out in order for us to get a win. This has got to stop. Our offense must find a way to finish drives and until they do, the Skins will continue bringing up the rear in the their divsion.

And people have the audacity to blame the defense for losses. That infuriates me. It's not that they are pefect but how can u even begin to blame them when ur not even scoring points?!!
