I think I posted the Post articles, but I didn't get it from KFFL. Good site. I like Holdman. I wouldn't mind bringing him here if he can be a backup. He may also replace Trotter, too. I think Holdman is pretty good. The more the merrier, I guess.

I like this for depth, it seems like Greg Williams is going to use the linebackers alot. For rushing the passer and dropping into coverage.[/quote]

Warrick Holdman would be a great addition! I think he is on the verge of breaking out just like Marcus Washington is! He is very solid for the Bears last year!

I see two possibilities here... either Trotter is gone, or they are going to use a LB as a DE more than even I thought...
Wow - LA, Washington, Holdman, Trotter and all of the younger kids as well as Mitchell...
Good lord...

Yes, that is a loaded core of LB's. I defintely forsee Gregg Williams blitzing LB's a lot and lining them up as DE's! I think Trotter stays primarily because of his cap #. He is still is pretty decent! I think he a least a couple more solid years left! I think Marcus Washington is going to be a star this year and ofcourse Lavar will go insane! Hail to the Redskins!

Hey, Jake...Here's a deal for you. I lay off of C-Sam for you, you lay off of Trotter for me. I like this guy. What he needs is somebody like Williams who'll tell him, "Look. We're keeping you for your instinctive play. We're not asking you to make your own scheme. Do your job as I describe it, and let everybody else do theirs. Watch what happens. I know how to make you a winner."
Trotter wants what every player in this league wants, and Joe has three of 'em. That will make an already dangerous man more dangerous, and will effectively rein him in. Let's keep the young guy with familiarity with his linemates, and bring your Bear guy in to compete. He'll either push him or beat him.

I'm not getting on Trotter. I like him and want him here but if we bring in another linebacker, it may all come tumbling down. There's nothing we can do about it.
I want him here but if he goes, he goes.

I dont think Trotter will go anywhere. GW will use the 3-4 set even though he said he wont. We have two pass rushing LBs in Arrington and Washington, now we need some LB beef in the Middle with Trotter

I think it is very unlikely we would cut Trotter, although after June it is a possibility. That said, I wouldnt mind losing Trotter all that much because he has not reached the level he enjoyed with Philly.

I'm a bit on the fence on this one...I will hold off my opinion for a while on about 80 percent of 'em until they have more than one year with the same staff. Not making excuses, but they haven't exactly been led by the sheppard...That being said, It'll be interesting watching this unit come together under a staff that has the potential to remain in place for @ least 3 years. If so, then look for Trotter & Company to explode.

What level are you talking about? He has been here two years with two diffrent coordinators and still put up big numbers last year. I think his numbers are good coming off a injury. Plus Philly blitzes 90% of the time. 10 passes deflected, means he was almost in the right place.

Jake, you are a smart guy and I like your articles and post you provide us....plus you like the greatest team in pro football SO I'm gonna take it easy on ya. I agree with everything you said except for "replacing" Trotter. That won't happen. His contract is too big (32 million the next 5 years with over 3 million in a signing bouns due to him). If he gets hurt than Holdman or Mitchell would take his spot providing that we sign Holdman. Holdman would be a great pickup because he can play all three LB postions nicely. I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but I believe they will try the best they can to have Trotter earn his money. I beleive he'll have the most improved season, because everyone else shouldn't be expected to have that much better of a season than him from last year. The defense he was apart of in Philly is similar to the ones Williams will use. Once again, I wasn't try to blast you, Jake I was just caught off guard by your comment or maybe I misunderstood you. Then again maybe he will replace Trotter, and that would suck to have to pay such a steep price to keep him on the sidelines most of the time. Oh well, live and learn. We'll soon find out.

Topics evolve, brother. There's only so much you can say about one thing. I don't think it was a 180 from the original topic.

it would be insane to cut trotter.the guy can still play in this league, last year's coach stunk to high heaven but williams is different.give trotter a chance,if samuels deserves one so does JT.
