I've been watching this team since G Tre Johnson was pulling for no name running backs and I can't remember ever having this much talent, not just star power talent, but justified talent on both sides of the ball. They've been without a real pass rush for what feels like 15 years, they've always had less than a full set of pass catchers, and I couldn't say specifically how many games they've lost in the past few years by a touchdown or less. The Redskins always play tough and when the fourth quarter rolls around the game is never out of reach. Haynesworth could be the few inches this team needs to make a 7-20L game a 14-13W.
Make the weak secondary of the Giants prove they can cover Kelley and Moss
Rush four on passing downs AND get pressure. Eli is not Peyton
Clog the middle and make Jacobs go East West
Put Mike Williams in on goal line plays as an extra TE and run behind he, Samuels, and Dockery
Beat the Giants

I like how he makes the statement, then leaves room to claim it was done tongue in cheek.
No guts...

Okay, now, put the gun down and step away from the ledge
JC would have to go from below average to Marino-esq, not sure that can happen.
I can only dream of it.

Well... a few more things than that probably need to happen... but I think that all we need out of JC is to be a little Rypien-esque... no more than that.

If our D holds up, even a Dilfer like performance might do.

Not only that, but our WRs will have to play like Monk, Clark, and Sanders.....which, ironically for me, is even less likely than the former (and this coming from someone who adamantly believes that Rypien's 1991 season was the best ever by a skin --- or at least since the first Super Bowl; I don't know enough about the team prior to that).
And do you blame the guy for making this comment tough and cheek. After all, we did get thoroughly beat yesterday. And the article has the skins as the only NFC East team making the playoffs.......

I guess the fact that the article was written prior to yesterday's game may have had an impact.
I must say though, the reader comments after the article are particularly entertaining.

most here have a better idea of what is really happening - we take articles, both pro and con for what they're worth - primarily to "sell" something
We are not a bad team and we are not a very good team - I doubt that anyone here really thinks we could be in the NFC championship game this year but we really just want our team to be competitive and especially within the NFC East. I think we will win most of the games outside our division but unfortunately that is not mainly due to our team being a good team but rather the schedule setup (the next 5 games especially) and the fact that most of the teams we play this year are looking really bad.
We just played the toughest game of the year on our schedule and it happened to be the first game - we are not as bad as we looked and we certainly will play a lot better and make ourselves look a lot more competitive in the next few weeks - we have a decent chance of being 5-3 or even 6-2 after the first half -
these articles are fine for those that think some of these media types know anything but for the most part they are just written and edited to sell
