Call it what you want..... don't be hatin...

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- There's nothing like adding a little intrigue, secrecy, and skullduggery to a season-opening contest between two longtime NFC East rivals, the New York Giants and Washington Redskins.
The Redskins' signing of former Giants quarterback Andre' Woodson to their practice squad on Sunday has New York coach Tom Coughlin and players thinking the move is as sinister as a twist in a Tom Clancy novel. Or some plot hatched by the Skins' northern Virginia neighbor, the CIA.
Woodson spent all of last season on the Giants' practice squad and was among New York's final cuts this weekend. He knows all the plays and, even worse, all the audible calls.
Coughlin was blunt in saying it was obvious why Woodson was signed.
"I have been a part of it," Coughlin said Monday when asked whether he has ever signed a player released by a team he was about to play. "I have seen it done. A guy doesn't get in the door two seconds, and he is in a classroom being grilled."

So the CIA made Tommy C. unable to pick his 5-6 best wideouts without Plax on the roster, so he went with seven WRs and let his #3 QB go?
That's what you really think happened?
OK, I'll buy that

New Yorkers are not entirely unfamiliar with spying, ever hear of industrial spying? What if they bring Woodson back to the to the regular season 53 at the end of the week? He'll know a lot about the defensive game plan.

Don't we have priority to signhim to the active 53 if they try to pick 'em up?

Good question. I don't know the answer.

What about when they signed Tim Hasselback a few years back and he was calling our signals out to their D-fense on their sidlines........

Yeah Coughlin knows he did the same to us with hasselbeck; forget coughlin, Justin tuck said he's looking for a fight on sun. I feel like our O Line is ready to fight back, I have faith in Jason and actually have been encouraged with the offense this pre-season; use marko and Fred Davis in the Red Zone!

This is sooo funny - the Giants have picked up a number of our wantaways and castoffs over the past few seasons for exactly the same reason. What goes around, comes around....

Just sour grapes from the beady-eyed, vertically challenged, Coughlin

Sounds like projection to me:
"They must be doing it, because that's what I would do."

If you read that particular Coughlin quote more carefully then the reporter did, he didn't actually say that's "why" we signed him, just that since we did they'll have him in and grill him. The Giants kept two QBs, we kept two. Maybe we just liked their castoff better then our two. But sure, since we signed him we'll see if he can help more. Maybe he thinks that's "why" but after saying he was blunt he didn't even say it. Typical AP unfortunately.

I specifically remember Wynn, Pierce, Hasselbeck, Arrington to name a few that Coughlin signed. For him to play dumb makes no sense, it happens all the time. Anything within the rules to gain an advantage IMO is fair game.
