For another roster spot.

I understand what you are saying but we only have two QB'S.

Actually, we have three QBs on our roster. JC, TC and a college QB that posted big time numbers in college and unlike Colt or Chase he has thrown passes in NFL games. Heck he tossedey's only TD last year!
Skins Sign Woodson to Practice Squad
The Redskins have opted to try to sign a bigger quarterback, Kentucky's Andre Woodson, to their practice squad, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
Woodson, 25, was a sixth-round draft pick by the New York Giants in 2008. Among his achievements at Kentucky, Woodson, at 6-4, broke the NCAA record of 271 passes (set by Trent Dilfer) without an interception in September 2007. He extended that streak to 325 attempts before it was broken. In the Music City Bowl, he broke the SEC record for passing touchdowns in a season; he eclipsed Danny Wuerffel's record of 39 by one.
I actually love Woodson.. He was a stud at Kentucky.. He'll be a great PS player IMO. But I guess that really isn't saying much.tribeofjudah wrote:Skins Sign Woodson to Practice Squad

....... Who's his midget? I'm confusedGibbs4Life wrote:Oh yeah, he's lucky we even invited his midget...
It's seriously a slap in our face to go to another teams practice squad
fredp45 wrote:There is NO 3rd stringer that will help us win this year...I like the move of saving Colt by IR'ing him and letting Chase go. While Chase looked good, so did Colt his first preseason. They're playing vs 2nd and 3rd teamers. They'd both be lost playing vs starters full-time. It would be so ugly we'd hate it!!!!
I like giving the roster spot to an athlete that you can use in spots. With ARE on the team, you can use him if you absolutely need him. If they have a situation where both 1 and 2 are hurt longer term, I'd rather them quickly pick up Garcia or someone (Gus??) we know can do the job without being freaked out.
A super good move by Zorn and staff.

He was a project to start with and was drafted with the team knowing he had a hip problem. This training camp he was challenged by a UDFA, and finished the pre-season with a new hip injury (the other hip, no less) and a bad hammy.

Yep, that's the way I see it.
Gibbs4Life wrote:Colt's not going anywhere, Danny likes him, Zorn likes him, and I like him. He's shown TREMENDOUS upside and even this pre-season had as many great throws as poor ones; he's in his 2nd yr of a 2-3 yr development project, he gets another yr after 09
