Now, before the lynch mob forms, I'm not advocating we trade for this guy, but just getting a consensus for him. I liked what I saw from him last year. I think he even caught a TD (El to the QB would be cool trickery

)
What are the thoughts of other intelligent beings out there on Thigpen
BTW, he's only rumored to garner a 4th rounder...

Hmmm.. good question there. I liked how he played and with our QB situation, why not at that cost? Do we get him now since he's available or would the FO wait until after the season to make moves (assuming him or anyone else for that matter)?

I don't think so... Why waste another draft pick on a player that we probably won't use?

I wasn't really trying to take this subject this route, but I didn't get my point across very well, so here goes.
He's won some games, he's got some wheels, and he's got NFL experience. I liked him last year in KC when he really didn't have much help. With our receivers looking as if they're stepping up and CP and all, I don't see the issue.
Tyler Thigpen's stats aren't great, but they're not that bad. More TDs than INTs. The % is low, QB rating is 76 (not bad, but not good) and I think he's got the 'it' factor. The killer instinct.

Yeah I understand your point. But if this was going to happen, it would need to happen before OTAs or at least training camp so he can get familiar with the system and get a feel for our receivers. Unless of course you mean, just have him as a back up and then have him compete next year with JC (if he's still here)

Like I said, I didn't want this to be a, "Let's get Thigpen" thread, just to throw it out. What if we can get him for a 5th or 6th? I think 4th is kinda high for our situation, a late 2nd day pick would be tempting IMO.

I think this guy is backing up Chad Henne in Miami (could be wrong).
But I did like what I saw from him in KC. I actually thought they would roll with him under Todd Haley.
