Eagles copying the Redskins?

So now i'm waiting for the Fat Len article slamming the eagles for just going for the biggest names in free agency with the most question marks. Cuz you KNOW if the skin's landed these guys we'd get destroyed for paying too much money for kearse who's got a history of injury problems and paying too much money for owens who definitely brings baggage to his new team. He SHOULD slam the eagles cuz they went out and spent a ton of money on two guys when they've got way more holes that just at WR and DE. they couldn't stop the run last year and they did nothing to fix that, now they've lost both their corners!! well, that's reason for skin's fans to smile...portis is going to run WILD on their slack D.

Oh, the press will not slam Andy Reid or the Eagles front office. The gladly slam the Redskins front office because Mr Snyder has made moves that have not quite worked out, so far. Once they start to win more teams will do the same, just like baseball front offices try to keep up with Mr Steinbrenner (I think thats how it is spelled).

Dhani Jones isn't exactly nothing, and weren't they pursuing a DT the last I heard?
I agree that Len is a fool who lets his emotions get the best of an otherwise good sportswriter. I would think that the same rules apply to the Iggles as us for spending major money on FA, but the difference is that Daniel Snyder p*ssed a lot of media off when he first came to the owners box.

Yeah but they let go of carlos emmons, dhani jones is not an upgrade. And what about their lack of a secondary(besides dawkins of course)?

Someone fill me in because I thought Dawkins was restricted but free. Didn't they have to resign him, or have they already done that. I know they've lost Vincent and Taylor, meaning they will be susceptible to the pass, and they're already vulnerable against the run. Bad defense doesn't win championships, but I don't think they care. They seem content going to the NFC title game and losing, every single year...

I don't think they are gonna let Buckhalter go anywhere. Hard tell what Filthadelphia has in mind.

Buck is in Reid's doghouse. Getting caught in a car full of pot and missing meetings will do that. He can't pick up the blitz, so if a team would make an offer for him we'd probably let him walk and take the 4th round pick. Either way we're going to draft a RB.

alittle off topic but....picture this...T.O.cuts a quik slant inside..D.Mac. see's him and delivers the ball..arrington drops a bone cruching hit and T.O.'s head pops right off his sholders ...then the quick thinking lavar reaches into his sock and pulls out a marker and picks up T.O's head and autogrphs it... ...... it could happen

hey GF... thanks for popping by... GF runs
Concrete Field, F2FA's Eagles affiliate... and believe it or not... he's actually a good sod... even though he's an Eagles fan... i kid you not.
What's your take on these two really high priced signings bro? obviously they potentially make your team a whole lot better but you still have a lot of blanks to fill in. What's going to happen at corner?

Taylor and Vincent didn't play a whole lot last year. While they were out Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown didn't play too badly. A few ups and downs, but overall not bad. They're going to start this year .We still need another corner, but whoever it is will most likely play nickel. With a healthy D line there should be a pass rush this year, so that should help them some. It's a big if for the whole line though. The only two people who were healthy all of last season were Corey Simon and Darwin Walker, and they wore down around week 8 I think.
Kearse's deal is basically a 3 or 4 year deal. For those years his salary is pretty low. After that it balloons in a big way. TO is going to count for about $4 mil against the cap this year. That leaves us with about $13 mil under the cap this year to mess with. Corey Simon will most likely get an extension this season.

I was just talking with one of my redskin friends last night about this. We were talking about how the media would be treating us if we signed Kearse and T.O. to the contracts the Eagles did. I can see it in my head. "There goes the skins again trying to buy a superbowl" " there goes Snyder over spending on Kearse, he'll probably be injured and leave the deadskins paddling up $h*+ creek." "There goes the skins over paying a trouble maker". Why is the media so against us? Did Dan Snyder run over Pasta belly's dog or something?

Yep Brandon777, it's good to see that some of us notice these media double standards.

i never heard anything about who troy vincent was talking to until he signed with buffalo, and same for bobby taylor.. not alot of news about those guys, where is taylor gonna end up, they were 2 of the best corners on the market and they were on the market for a long time

I dont' think its fair for the media to bash New acquisitions...I thin if they want to bash guys that didnt work out last year than thtas cool...but to bash new guys is dumb...WHo knows whats instore for them?
Springs could come to Washington and be as good as bailey.
Kearse could play every game next season and break the sack record....WHo knows.
These reporters who bash the FO or bash New players...Are just looking to sell papers.

There is no way then afford to let Corell Buckhalter go! Who would there RB be? They already lost Duce Staley! Brian Westbrook is not a everydown RB! He blows he is 3rd down changeup back at best! Buckhalter is far from anything worthy! F The Eagles! Hail to the Redskins!

BossHogconfused a stupid American when he wrote:and believe it or not... he's actually a good sod...
sod [ sáwd ]
noun
1. turf: a surface section or strip of earth with growing grass and roots
2. ground: ground or soil ( literary )
Hey, Boss...Is this like malt vinegar ? Can I put Canadian "sod" on my fries ?
Here, in the U.S., "sod" from Canada is actually some really good peat moss. What does that mean up there ?

The Eagles can do dumb crap. They have been to the Championship game three years in a row. The media is very forgiving to the Car Hunter birds.

Yep and this year there will be even more disappointment for filthadelphia. Their little 3 year string is over, now they'll have a reason to not make it to the "big dance".

I'd put my money on him writing how Gibbs is winning in spite of Snyder.
