Wow. That is my first initial reaction when I found out this news. I just saw it on NFL Network. I knew the man had cancer, but I didn't know it was that serious. Jim Johnson to me, although I hate the Eagles, was a genius as a defensive coordinator. The NFL has just lost a great coach and one hell of a man who terrorized offensive coordinators. RIP JJ.

I hate the Eagles, but I'm still bothered at the fact that the media is making a bigger deal out of Favre staying retired than they are of this...

I sure hope he gave his "trade secrets" away to some upcoming stud of a Defensive coach. His legacy will live on. I feel for his family and friends.
He gave US fits when we played the Eagles.

Wow. That's sad news. The Eagles won't just shake this off.

Such a tragic ending. He was a defensive genius IMO. The Eagles are better as a unit having experienced his insight.

Thoughts and prayers go to his family. This is a shocker, he made the game tough and he is one of the reasons why the NFC east is as competitive as it is today. Rest in Peace coach. Say hi to ST21 or us.

Not me. I hope he kept them a very well-guarded secret, and that his success against us is never duplicated.
What a terrific career he had...I don't think it's outrageous to say that, ten years from now, we'll be talking about schemes from coaches that came out of the Johnson Tree, much the way we talk about Don Coryell.
RIP, Coach.

First off R.I.P Jim Johnson. One heck of a coach.

He did pass on his secrets. Spagnolu formerly defensive coordinator of the Giants. Oh and they won a SuperBowl.

Jim Johnson fantastic coach and human being. I actually am gonna miss seeing him go agains our team on the sideline. I will also miss how he had his defense rip apart the Cowboys for all these years.
