Sad but true:
http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/273457
About 55 pilot whales, large members of the dolphin family, washed up on Kommetjie beach in Cape Town shortly after dawn on Sunday. Three whales had died by late afternoon. National Sea Rescue Institute volunteers tried to get them back to the sea, using earth moving equipments. They managed to get more than 20 of the whales back into the water, but remaining 30 were too weak to go back into the sea.
...............Mike Meyer, a scientist with Marine and Coastal Management, said euthanizing the whales was the most humane option in front of them.

Didn't see a point starting another thread.. Do any of you watch the show "Whale Wars"? Totally awesome show, really shows mankind at their best, but unfortunately you also see the worse. Here is an example...

Yes... the International Whaling Commission is now just a bunch of wagging tongues and yapping mouths. Useless... and disgusting.

the Japanese make many great products....BUT HEY, they all need to stop eating endangered species, like whales.
Whales are our friends.

Out of town so I'm watching Whale Wars from the very beginning. They hooked me man, I feel so bad for these whales I get so sad. They say the Japanese are using the whales for research.. like, whales? really, whales? I'm gonna investigate it further to find out exactly what research. The "leftovers" are being used for huge profits..
man, whales .. icebergs are melting, probably because of mankind. polar bears won't have ice to live on.. the water is their place, why we always have to mess up stuff?

Take a look @ America's "politically correct" stance on it, ticked me the

off when I read it.
Check out the meaning of one of flags they fly.. pretty cool, native americans have always had strong beliefs in nature and animals.

You guys do understand how much of a joke that show is right? It is a bunch of hippies using stink bombs to stop a (singular) whaling vessel. Then the whaling ship destroys a million dollar boat that was created most likely by donations.
Greenpeace is a joke and an expensive one at that.

Technically your right ATX, but there's nothing else that can be done. Actually, the Japanese ended their whaling for the rest of the whaling season and some may say it has to do with these guys. Maybe not directly but world opinion may still hold some kind of weight? Hippies or not bro, they are doing something to try and help and that's pretty awesome to me.

Bob Barker of Price is Right Fame has convinced the Japanese to scaled down their hunt by 70%.....(I think? ballpark range)
I like Mr. Barker.
