Rookie WR's

Guys, the filthydelphia iggles drafted this guy Maclin and he looks pretty good, in fact scary, couple him with the kid they drafted last year and the Florida stud TE and the RB they drafted, phi pretty much stacked their O.

Its just embarrassing that we're making excuses for WR's while a div rival is going into their second year with studs. Last years draft has muuuch to prove and I'm not feeling good about them.

I think those fears are completely baseless. I'm sorry

Maclin is, indeed, excellent, and will complicate coverages for the db's. Regarding the Westbrook clone, we will only face one RB at a time. All well and good, but the Redskins are now built to defend against teams like the new and improved Eagles. Donovan will be struggling to get the time he needs. We have an exceptional d backfield. Receivers like the Eagles stable are now built for a deep passing game... and you have to have time to make that work.

Other teams have much more to fear from the Eagles O than the Redskins do.

So....if one of their new toys pulls a hammy in training camp...will we be even?

Seriously, all these guys save DeSean Jackson have one thing in common in that

-they have yet to get the chance to prove anything-

If I was a QB and because of a number of things I couldn't get the ball to you in a football game, how would you catch the football?

riddle me that

How many drops did FDavis, MKelley, and DThomas have last year?

I can't tell which side of the fence you're on. And please don't say "riddle me that anymore"... It reminds me of the batman and robin movie.

Are you being serious?

DeSean Jackson started because he HAD to. The Eagles had no one else to go. The Redskins didn't have to use their receivers. Thomas looks great and made a couple big plays last season.

It is not making an excuse to say this system (and a lot of NFL systems) require precise route running. Nor is an excuse to say it's unrealistic to expect a rookie to be a precise route runner. Malcolm Kelly looks great too but he's been injured. How is that an excuse? There's x-rays and stuff.

Complain all you want about the Eagles having a good draft we won't know until these players fully blossom... about three seasons from now.

More like how many snaps did they have. Answer: barely any.

Maclin hasn't even played a down at the NFL level and already folks on here, so-called Redskins fans, are calling him a beast... He has to prove it first.

Instead of pumping up Maclin and the Beagles, pump up Orakpo and our Terp Corner.....

Donovan is going to be running for his life when he plays us or on his back. We beat them twice last year without a pass rush. I think even our exhausted Skins team at the end of the year could have won a 3rd time if we made it to the post season.

According to Donovan the Eagles were a better both times. I can't wait to sweep them again!!!!!

He thougth they were the better team overall..hard to argue that IMO...but your right we have added some nice players on D and they have added some nice one on O should make for a great game!!

Yeah I know, I'm just pumped up thinking about it. The rest of the Eagles acted with class though and gave us credit.

The Redskins didn't have to use their receivers.

Really? I must have forgotten how productive Thrash was as our third receiver.

Is this really Gibbs4Life, a devout Redskins fan, or did some Eagles fan steal his password and log on as him to praise their team??????

Must be the guy we got in trade for G4L a few months back.

I like our revamped D's chances against phi but they did have one of the better drafts and it irks me that their picks contribute (desean) while ours well... CB was a smart pick for us, we've got some speed to cover this year.

The first thing I looked at after the Skins' picks were our division rivals. I think the Eagles and the Giants made smart picks and of course they both had more picks to work with so they had more flexibility to upgrade their draft.

I thought Maclin was the best WR I've seen in years, better than Crabtree. Steal of the entire draft. McCoy is a great fit for the Eagles and Ingram could be the answer to the receiving TE woes. With the FA moves to get Peters and Andrews, the Eagles showed why they are like the Patriots of the NFC when it comes to their front office personnel management.

Hakeem Nicks and Ramses Barden at WR were smart moves by the Giants to replace Burris. Clint Sintim looks scary good to me and this Beatty OT guy from UCONN was highly rated. Travis Beckum could be the best receiving TE to come out in years and I have no idea why he seemed to be completely off scouts' radar. Andre Brown, RB, NCST is like a Derrick Ward clone. Rhett Bomar is a good project and will have more than enough time to develop. They also had two decent late round CB prospects who could florish. I was sickened by how good the Giants drafted.

The Cowboys had no early round picks after the Roy Williams WR trade but did some good things with the slew of later picks who could be good backups or special teamers. They have little holes to fill and it's more about their coaching I think than anything else. I don't think Wade Phillips will take them anywhere.

And Andy Reid will still call passing plays on 3rd and 1 so I'm not worried about the RB. As for Maclin, just jam him and see what happens to him.

hmmmmm ya they barley messed up at all, lol
I hope the skins can get in the endzone this year, not because of added talent but improvement thats all, if there out there and they drop it on 3rd and 6 or they all run 7 yard routes on 3rd and 12 then we got a defense, my real enthusiasm comes when I believe the coaches are putting together an offense well like you stated before there is some talent just they have go to get in the game, Maybe zorn really is measuring things up a little and if a rookie quarter back caan learn and watch a system develop over a year imagine what the backs and wideouts can achieve I am optimistic at best right now.
I really was shocked to see the talent at 13 I agree with the skins pick but it was hard to see the offense get left out, maclin I hope becomes smashed-inlin instead od maclin smashed in my the skins dfence that is

I'm excited about this Marko Mitchell guy. He needs to lift some weights, but other than that he's got a lot of speed and size. The skins should keep taking WR's at some point in the draft until they hit. It worked for the lions. Eventually.

ya it only seems fitting to bring some great offense to the skins, we have Portis and he is a total package in the back, a quality runner and can catch block and does not fumble alot,
The skins have turned out some pretty good late rounders of late. I hope the same for the wideouts and that they could bring in some production this season.

It would not surprise me to see a guy like Marko Mitchell out perform devin thomas.

Mitchell was drafted in the 5th or 7th round refresh my memory please.
The main think is that the wideouts can learn the offense and play with Jason Cambell, It is all about timing and execution in the passing game.
