why we SHOULD get winslow

I have said it once and I know a lot of people dont agree but I think winslow would benefit us the most. A lot of people keep telling me we have no chance of wasting that pick on him but I disagree. Having an offensive genius as a coach is already dangerous enough but adding a solid tightend that has hands better than some receivers would make gibbs offense unstopable. Winslow is a playmaker and would definitely help us out on those 3rd downs that we couldnt complete very often last year. In return our drives would be longer giving our defense a little break that they didnt get much of last year. I still like having rasby in there to block but what a 1 to punch that would give us

I like K2 as a player but his character is in question to me. When he spouted off at the mouth after that one game, I had no idea what he was talking about. I thought he might have been making fun of how bad he is when he plays GI Joe on Nintendo and loses all the time or something.

I haven't followed HIM too much or Sean Taylor but what I hear from Taylor, he is too good to pass up. I honestly never heard of Taylor until a couple of months ago!

And we already have 5 tight ends and I am confident that Royal can be a great force when he's healthy.

You make a great point. This is a toss up situation. I think Winslow is easily an elite TE. However, I have problems about his attitude. I know about Gibbs and his handling of ego-type players. This could be tough because You can get the best and worst, and you don't know what's going to be. Taylor could been a safe pick, but with his recent workout, I think the two drop a little. Now, if the Giants pick rumor is true, I see the Redskins trade down and get more draft picks, and ease the process. I truly think the Skins are in perfect position.

i can assume that you're not talking about shawn andrews (OT). is the rumour referring to taylor?

I think the Redskins already have their TE. Taylor is likely comin' to town!

I really think that people are blowing this "character" issue regarding Winslow waaaaaaaay out of proportion. What are we talking about, one incident when a reporter put a microphone in front of his face after a loss? Are there other issues that I am unaware of? Let's remember that all athletes have tremendous egos, each expressing that ego in different ways. If there are other points here regarding him, I would really like for someone to send me a link.
That said, if you look back over most of the Super Bowl winners the common denominator always is a good defense. Look at the 2000 Ravens, '85 Bears, Buccaneers, and Patriots (although their offense is pretty good too). Now lets look at say... the Rams. An excellent offense, and until only recently a marginal defense. Since Vermeil left Martz has put up big numbers, but no ring. If I had to take either K2 or Taylor (assuming he is all that they say that he is), I've got to take Taylor.

He would make us an very unorthodox team to play. It would be very interesting to see him Spread the field. I do think that he will be converted over to WR. He reminds me of David Boston.

Don't forget, we have a great receiver and two very good complements. Coles was injured last year and still got over 1,000 yards, Gardner is a good possession receiver and McCants is a red zone threat. Gibbs will only maximize their potential. We also have a back now that will average over 3 yards a carry. We'll get points. 12 teams scored 21 or more on us last year. We need to stop the bleeding and shore up the D. Taylor or trade down a spot or two and a DL.

Speaking of Boston, I've heard he wants out of San Diego. Anybody have anything in print on this?
He wouldn't be a bad pickup(trade) but he does have some issues tdeal with and I'm not sure if he even knows what they are.
That way we could still go defense in the draft; either a DE or safety.

IF chamberlain will get back into shape, there will be no immediate need for winslow. chamberlain has great hands, and can spread defenses when used properly. all this of course depends on IF he decides he's going to play football and not cookie monster.

Yesterday, I meant that statement. Today, we're keeping the pick. I don't mind trading down, but I think it's actually a huge risk, which I will post in a few minutes

Winslow would help. I agree that "if" Royal is healthy he'll be very good. Frankly, I don't see a lot of success stories on the 'injured rookie' coming back to be a star. But Royal's injury wasn't severe - he could be very effective.
As for the pick, Sean Taylor would be soooo awesome! The Skins may down if he's still on the board... similar to how we got champ.
- lastly, Winslow's outburst could be just him being a young man and making a dumb statement. Lord knows I've spouted a few really stupid things in my days as a young man... about 850,703 stupied things. The difference is - mine weren't caught on tape. He's a better kid than one 10 second sound bite might catch.

Basically he flipped out at a post game interview in the locker room. You should look for a clip of it cause its hilarious. He yells "I'm a soldier!" at least once.

address our biggest need in the draft and pick defensively is all I ask...Taylor or trade down for a DTs and/or DEs
