I'm his brother, Michael. I post this because I know he loved this board and posted regularly. I'm saddened to say he was found dead this morning in Boston of an apparent heart attack. I have no other details at the moment, but will post them as soon as I hear more. Again, I just post this because he loved this board and I thought some of you who may have known him would want to know.

Shock and sadness. Whenever I saw "JPFair" I was sure there would be something solid and smart in the post.

Wow that is really horrible. I remember my mother and I meeting him at the Metro station several years ago before a game. He was wearing his THN shirt so we talked to him and we introduced ourselves. I remember his strong Boston accent.
Man that is terrible. Thank you for letting us know, Michael, and stay strong. My mother and I will be praying for you and your family.

That is unbelievable. JP was a great guy and he will no doubt be missed by all that knew him. His participation here had been minimal recently, but he is forever part of the THN family.
RIP John.

John was a great fan and a better person.
I communicated through personal messages and took the same side in many arguments here. He even sold me his tickets to attend games at FedEx a few times when he could not attend or make the drive from Boston to DC.
He was a loyal, passionate and thoughtful Skins and Joe Gibbs fan. His family was important to him.
Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss and pass them on to your family. He was way too young to leave us behind.
Very sorry to hear this. Rest in Peace John.

I am so saddened to hear this terrible news. I was a kindred spirit here in the Boston area.....a Redskins fan in Patriots territory. I had the pleasure of meeting your brother briefly when I bought tickets to a Skins/Cowboys game from him 4 years ago. I was so impressed that he insisted that the tickets go to a Redskins fan at face value even though he could have sold the tickets for much more. It was an amazing game and I'll never forget it. I still relate that story to the local fair weather fans around here to give them an example of what true and loyal football fans are all about. He was the epitome of that. I got the sense that he was like that in all aspects of his life.
I offer my deepest and most sincere condolences to you and your family. The Redskins family has lost one of the "good ones".

I echo the sentiments of my brethren, Mike. My deepest condolences. We came to the Hogs.net within two weeks of each other. He was a great supporter of Dan Snyder.
Not.
For everybody else reading, it makes you think, doesn't it? How many of us remain faceless to each other, but have many hours of conversation about a common love for this team...and suddenly, one stops posting for a while, with no explanation. I, for one, tend to forget for awhile, and then later start wondering, "I wonder whatever happened to...". I go to his last post, to see if there was some 'goodbye' note or something, but generally speaking, they just tend to disappear...only to resurface at some weird time.
This time, the poster will not reappear. We have the rare 'death notice' to realize that we've lost a brother, and to reflect on our conversations with him, knowing that there will be no more. JP was one of those guys who felt everything fiercely. I remember one post where he told us he'd been a fan since he was a gleam in his father's eye, or something to that effect, which struck me as very funny when I read it.
Wasn't JP also the guy who wanted to have a hitman sent over to 'visit' Snyder?
I truly feel like I've lost a family member.
Despite never having met the person, I know I knew the poster, the fan and his heart.
I want to also say "thank you" to his real brother, who took the time to share the heartbreaking news with us.
We grieve with you.
