Tonight Watch Harvin Make My Case

Any of you who have seen my posts on who we should draft know I strongly believe Percy Harvin the WR out of Florida is a game changing TD machine and would be just what the Redskins need (besides OL).
Tonight in the Nation's biggest collegiate ballgame I don't have to post a plea for us to draft him, he will garner that attention himself. Watch and pray that Mr. Harvin comes to Washington.

Yeah, draft more WRs, please!

Ah sarcasm. Listen WHY SHOULD WE BE DEPRIVED of a STUD WR just because we whiffed and two second round busts? There's a thread dedicated to DeSean Jackson vs. Devin Thomas, there is no comparison, we got a dud, they got a stud, they're in the playoffs and we're not. We need touchdowns, Percy has scored a TD in the last 13 games he's played in! He's got SIZE and SPEED and POWER and MOVES while Devin is a bum. Are we not allowed to draft a WR ever again? Are we married to our failures for the next 10 yrs?

Second. All in favor, say aye.
Motion carried to draft as many smallish, fast, guaranteed-to-be-HOF WR in next year's and all future drafts.
Oh, and we could use a couple more punters too...

I'm much more impress by Gerald McCoy. He's getting good pressure, has an INT and takled the PITCHMAN from the DT position for a loss. With DT being more of a need than WR/3DN RB (Harvey's only big play thus far was as a RB), I'd pass on Harvey and take McCoy if one of the top tier OTs are gone.

No. I
want to emulate Detroit, and pick WRs and QBs for the next 10 years.

Harvin is fast, and a playmaker. But the dude is always injured...in college. I'm sure getting hit by bigger guys in the NFL will mean he'll be healthier...

Honestly, it's too early to (in)validate this comment. I can admit that I'm disappointed in the production last year, but not every stud WR starts off with a career season in their rookie year.

im just trying to point out the fact that just cuz they didnt do anything their rookie years, that doesnt mean they are busts and we should give up on them. i mean geez ive seen 4 year olds with more patience than some of the people here.

I'm not saying either way. I was trying to illustrate the same point.

Well in 09-2010 we will learn if A: Our 08 draft was pathetic as it currently seems, or B: patience is a virtue. My point is this, when it comes to first rounders (or really first picks in general) what your looking for is a superstar, a game-changer. And people always argue Need vs. Best Player Availible, but I would submit that the best player availible in the first round is the player of need unless you have a superstar at his position already.
Now whether or not Devin Fred Malcom are busts doesnt matter, what matters is AS OF RIGHT NOW we have NO SUPERSTARS at WR2 and WR3
So for me, if I'm sitting at pick #13 and a Superstar WR like Harvin is staring me in the face, I take him, devin thomas be darned.
Having said that, Vinny's going to try to trade back to make up for Jason Taylor. He's going to exhaust all options for trading back, we might even end up with no first round pick. Watch him trade for a 2 and a 4
