$$$ Value of the REDSKINS....

Here is an interesting take on the Skins from Forbes Magazine....

Team Value $1.5 billion. Ranks second to the cowpukes at #1

Daniel Snyder, owner who bought them in 1999 for $750 mil.

Off the gridiron, owner Dan Snyder has done an impressive job with the Redskins. He has improved marketing and promotions, boosted revenue, poured a fortune into players and facilities and paid down much of the debt he took on when he bought the franchise and stadium in 1999. But his arrogance and penchant for control have not mixed well running the football operations. One high priced coach after another has flopped and the team has signed several big name players only to see them stumble around the field. Snyder needs to wise up like the Dolphins finally did and turn the football reigns over to someone like Bill Parcells.

It'll never happen and this is why we will forever be mediocre. I keep my sanity in the notion that there is a good chance that my youth will allow me to outlive Daniel Snyder.... I hope that whomever is next will be of football mind and heart.

He tried that with Marty, but couldn't stand not being able to play Madden for real. He'd use a joystick on gameday if he could.

Well lookie here...... the Danny is losing money so he had to RIF some people from his staff. He will surely raise gameday prices to make up for his losses.....

The Redskins laid off at least 20 employees at Redskins Park this week and an undetermined number at FedEx Field, according to several sources with knowledge of the situation.

No coaches, trainers or scouts were let go. Cuts included at least one team vice president and members of the legal, marketing, information technology, public relations, cheerleading, game-day operations and Redskins Television staffs, according to several of the outgoing employees. Two members of the football operations staff were let go, sources said.

I love this part...
As a condition of their benefits and severance packages, outgoing employees must sign an agreement precluding them from speaking publicly about the organization

The football product has been sub-standard for a decade and now he's starting to see a drop in revenue?

Karma's a you-know-what, ain't it Danny?

No one deserves failure more than you. (But I don't think we'll see him shacking up at the Y any time soon)

He's seeing no drop-off. The people he fired, on the other hand...

The sad thing is that if Danny "fails" then it trickles down to the Redskins.
Will the Skins fail too.......???

You know what? I don't know if not willing to endure some more failure if (somehow) I knew that it would lead to the one word that will save this franchise:

SELL

I read in the post today, that there revenue isn't as high as it use to be. Well Dan is a horrible owner, and Vinny is horrible at picking players.

So of course your going to loose money, because people are sick of seeing a crappy team on the field.

Yeah, the recession wouldn'thave anything to do with that, now would it? A little background for your statement (hmm, a link, maybe?) would be nice.

Not making as much revenue as they used to, is not equivalent to "loosing" (or even losing) money.
