What if we could sign Gilbert Brown or Luther Ellis to an affordable contract? They could fix the problem for the short term. I would only do this for a modest amount of dollars.

we need to do something. i was hoping we would already have most of the d-line problems solved. i hope we get coleman(raiders) at DT. or sapp. i know some guys here are down on him, but i'm not. i think he'd easily be the best lineman we could get..... well at least for a couple more years.

I think both of those guys will be too expensive. We need to be prudent with the remaining signings.

we need another starting DT. aside from griffin, we're in the same shape we were. still no real pass rusher, we got griffin, but still need one starter at DT. i just don't want a "journeyman's" d-line again this year. i saw enough of that. maybe we'll draft wilfork.

I say we draft Tommie Harris, hes straight rediculous, and hes a big SOB.

actually, he's rather small for an NFL DT(285 lbs) wilfork is 345.

Vince has gotten himself in considerable shape and is down to about 325.

nice. i didn't know that. i'll bet he's a little quicker, and a bit more "light on his feet" no pun intended. i really like the guy, and i hope if we do take a DT with the first rounder, that it is wilfork.

Why do I get the sinking feeling that we're trading down ?

I would be very surprised if we pick a player at number 5. I prefer Wilfork over Udeze simply because I believe Vince is less likely to be a bust. I would like to get NE picks in the first round and take Dockett and DeAngelo Hall.

Well - if we trade down to NE we can get both in the first round, a pass rusher and a DT.

If we only trade down a few slots and get a second rounder we can get Udeze or Wilfork and another lineman in the second round.

Don't forget one thing folks - we have a second round of free agency after June 1st - though I would rather have everyone in mini camps three times to get used to each other.

I'm not sure Wilfork will still be there at five. Depending on what the Raiders do NY may take him at four. Thats just a gut feeling but hes had a better pro day than anyone and that can drive a draft pick way up

Does anyone have any information on how Brandon Noble's recovery is coming along? There was talk that his career might be over back when he got hurt, but I haven't heard a thing about him since August.

I doubt that the Giants will take WIlfork. I bet they will either take Sean Taylor, or someone for thier offensive line.

Perhaps, this is just wishful thinking, but I'm betting that Wilfork won't be drafted very high at all. I too prefer Wilfork over any other Defensive line player in the draft.

Word was earlier that he had complications in his recovery, but the last I heard that was in Dec, so he may be progressing quite nicely.

I would like to see us trade down and get Wilfork/Starks and a good pass rushing DE, though I will say I hope if that happens it isn't Adibi from Va Tech (I know this shocks everyone who knows I am a rabid Hokie fan). He was ok, but just that.
