Where was Danny?

I have a question: I've only seen the press conferences of the last few days from the internet, and the links that have been posted. But, I've noticed one interesting thing. With all the activity going on in the last two to three weeks, theres been a number of press conferences where Coach Gibbs speaks, and then introduces the player right before a photo-op. But, one thing I noticed, and which prompts my question is WHERE WAS DANNY?
Could it be that this is the dawning of the NEW Dan Snyder? Could it be that Joe Gibbs is slowly and methodically asserting his authority? Could it be that Snyder is finally sitting back and letting Joe run the show? I've noticed, and thankfully so, that everything seems to come from Joe Gibb's mouth. Even when Joe Gibbs said "Danny is just trying to Help" was a clear sign that Gibbs is running the ship (see a previous post on that comment)
Anyway, if Snyder WAS there, he certainly didn't take Center Stage, so to speak. He stayed well out of the limelight, even on the TV broadcasts. If so, things are going according to plan. And, from how Joe Gibbs has been handling things, Joe Gibbs hasn't changed a bit. He's STILL GOT IT!!
Thoughts?

It is official....The Danny has taken a back seat to the head coach...FOR ONCE.
He is young, and learning.
Gibbs runs this ship, Danny sits in his office and does the business.
...just the way it is supposed to be

Good point JPFair - let's hope you are correct. If so it may be a level of maturity as an owner DS has reached.
or he was just in the HEAD

I think it's very intersting to note this, because remember the days of Deion etc... Danny was standing there, basking in all the glory while the photographers snapped up their pics. And now, no sign of him.

There's no question Snyder is deferring to Gibbs on just about everything, and that's a positive.
One point I would like to clarify, though -- the original poster seemed to imply Snyder is a publicity hound. If so, I respectfully disagree.
Snyder has his faults, but I've never sensed that he wanted to be known as the public face of the Redskins. It's my understanding he's fairly reluctant to give interviews and he doesn't insist on showing up the coach by standing along the sidelines, like a certain owner who shall remain nameless.

I think that maybe Danny is learning. When he took over this team he was a young guy who made himself rich by asserting himself over his business and by controlling every aspect of what was going on. He didn't get rich by being stupid.
Danny had no confidence in Norv Turner. With Norv, he might as well been the coach. He second-guessed every decision. He inserted his opinion on every lineup change and basically ran on Brad Johnson, Brian Mitchell, etc.
When Marty came in, Danny did have respect for him. He turned over full control of the team. Danny was nowhere to be seen when Jeff George got the axe. The same Jeff George that was Snyder's guy.
When Spurrier came in, he pretty much relied on Snyder to make all of the calls on player personnel.
Enter Joe Gibbs. The coach Danny has always wanted. The coach he grew up watching and has coveted since the day he took over the team. I think Danny finally has the guy he has been after. He finally is comfortable with letting Coach Gibbs run the team. He realizes that Coach Gibbs is the face of the Redskins.

I see your point, but I was referring to the time when Deion Sanders was signed. Who could forget Danny and Deion standing side by side, with Deion in that ridiculous suit that he had no right to be wearing. It just seemed at that time, that Snyder was letting people know that HE was the man in charge, HE was the man controlling the moves, and HE was the one who dictated what was going on. At the time, it was certainly the case. But now, his sign of authority is nonexistant, even though he is the owner.
I agree with you, in that I don't think Dan is a publicity hound. As you rightfully point out, it's perhaps quite the opposite. But, he was never shy when it came to letting people know who was running the show.

maybe just maybe dan has decided to kick back and let joe run the show. in turn should be running the show!dan would be doing the right thing by siting back and getting what joe wants and needs to have on his team.
maybe just maybe dan has realized this.

Dan the Man is finally learning from the best.. only Gibbs could push him out of the spotlight. But Daniel Snyder was certainly at all the press conferences.. just sitting in the back watching and not getting involved. I saw him get up from around the 5th or 6th row and shake hands w/ Shawn Springs. He's definitely "maturing" and knows he doesn't have to be everywhere now that Gibbs is here.
