Now that Walter Rasby didn't sign a contract, where do we find a good blocking, pass catching TE?

I don't seem to find any on the JG list that is left.

Any thoughts? :D

I really, REALLY like Jed Weaver...

He's still pretty young and he could learn a lot from Chamberlain... I think they'd be a good team

Rasby hasn't signed with anyone so we still may get him. At least as of this morning.

Ouch. That's what I get for focusing on the NFC teams, huh?

as of about an hour ago Walter Rasby was still available, and Washington is the only place he has visited. He isn't exactly being persued by a lot of teams, and chances are we'll still get him.

Unless something's happened since I went to school, he is still waiting for the call from Gibbs, seeing as how he was at Mark Brunell's press conference at Redskins Park.

The Texans and Saints are interested in Rasby....but he COULD, but not likely start w/ the Skins...he would NOT start with the Saints or Texans. It all comes down to money.

As for Jed Weaver, he is not all that. When Eric Johnson (starting 49ers TE) got hurt last season Weaver was supposed to step up and play a big role....but he didn't. He was average. He is comparable to Indy's Joe Dean Davenport or Tampa's Ken Dilger.

I am hopefull that the Skin's pull something off and get extra high picks in the draft and get Ben Troupe with in the late first or second round.

I'd go with Dave Moore. He's under-rated and won't cost much. I'm not sure about Ken Dilger's status - but he's got great hands... that could happen too. Lastly, Kellen Winslow Jr. looks ready to be a Pro Bowl player RIGHT NOW! - not a bad pick...

Winslow will be a great TE, but in Gibbs offense I don't think he would be utilized properly. As you know Gibb's TE will mostly block and Rasby fits that mold. He is a punishing blocker. I hope they get him, as far as our first pick I would really like to see them get Sean Taylor.

I agree lets start to develop some of "our own" players.
