Give the job to Colt. He can't do much worse.
What, maybe we'll score less than 10 points? Might as well see what the rookie does in a real game situation so he can truly compete for the starting job next year.
And who knows, maybe he'll actually make an improvement.

I just worry about the kid getting his clock cleaned with the injuries to the oline. I would not mind seeing was Colt can do with the starting O next pre-season.

I agree, especially if we lose the next game. Let's see what Colt can do against first-string defenses.

I think the worst possible thing that could be done with a team that has had more changes than any other over that last few years is to make a change at QB right now. If you truly believe that JC is the only reason we're not 13-0 right now, then sure, advocate for a QB switch. Otherwise, why not see what the whole practice squad can do? There are plenty of other players who are failing right now, let's get their back-ups in there and see if they can do worse.

This thread basically exists already, I don't see a need to duplicate it to add a poll:

Stupidest poll ever. I understand the validity to wanting Collins but to the people that want Brennan... I just don't understand. I'm not saying he will never be good but Colt over Jason really??? Stupid.
Believe in Jason. Believe in Washington. Believe in now.
21 forever.

Man, as of right now 9 out of 28 respondents 32% are completely out of their mind insane.
Replacing Campbell right not is idiotic.

I think you meant, "now." And yes, it is. Unfortunately immediate gratification has become the guiding light in our culture, and as usual the steps taken in it's name seldom achieve it in any meaningful way and almost never achieve it in a lasting way.

Question.
Do any of the 20 people who voted Jason really believe that with some time in the same system he will become an ELITE, PUT THE GAME ON MY BACK, I WILL BEAT THE OTHER TEAM SINGLE HANDEDLY, type of QB...
You know, the Joe Montana, Tom Brady,............ type.
I think not... I just don't see it. He makes some nice plays sometimes and he dosen't turn it over. Thats great. But are we ever gonna have another Sunny Jurgenson.... Or how about or own Tom Brady, Elway, Manning, Montana type.
Even when these QB's came into the league as rookies, occasionally they would do something stupid that would make their coaches and fans go bonkers. But they would also do great things. Things that make you think, WOW he's gonna be great when he stops doing that.
Im usually one to stick it out, but I just don't see it! He has always had a little bit of an accuracy problem. Nothing major like Vince Young. Just a tendencies to over and under throw long balls. He lacks the touch pass.
He is simply not a playmaker.
I don't know if Colt is the guy or not, but I don't think Jason is the guy.
John Madden, a guy that tends to ramble on about non-sense most of the time, said in the Hall of Fame game " When you watch this kid (Colt) play, he just has that IT factor." That statement is debateble. The fact that Jason C. does not have the IT factor is not debateble.
We have to stop blaming it on the system changes. Did Matt Ryan run the same system in BC? Did Drew Brees have the same system in New Orleans as he did in San Diego? Did Joe Flacco have the same system in Pittsburg? Did Tom Brady have the same system at Michigan? Did Big Ben have the same system in Miami(OH) as he did in pittsburg?
All these guys made alot of errors as rookies in NEW SYSTEMS, but they made up for withtheir play making ability.
Any one notice that Jason Campbell still, after 4 years of coaches preaching(reguardless of system), locks on to receivers. Still hasn't put the game on his back and won a big game in the forth quarter for us.
When he first started playing "He still needs to get use to the speed of the game" was one of the excuses. Tony Romo never had that problem. Matt Cassel, who may I mention, hadn't played in a game since
HIGH SCHOOL, dosen't seem to be having that problem.
I don't hate Jason Campbell, and I don't think he is a bad QB. I just don't think he will ever be great. And as Washington Redskin fans I think we deserve great...

I like Jason alot. I think he is a good quarterback and I would prefer to have our QB situation over about half the team's in the league. Will he ever be Tom Brady, John Elway, Joe Montana etc.? No. We know that now but is that what it takes to win the super bowl???
Could he be Eli? Absolutely!
Could he be Rex Grossman? (I know they didn't win it but still) Absolutely!
Trent Dilfer?? Brad Johnson?? Of course he could! I know our teams are not as good as those teams yet but we are a good team with a good QB and we could be great.
To the people who want Jason gone, I think you're spoiled. Sure, if we can get the next Tom Brady in the draft I am all for it but good luck finding him. Ask the Lions if they want Campbell, or Minnesota or San Fran or St Louis. The list goes on and on.... We should be so lucky to have him. It could be ALOT worse.

If you've read any of the discussion on the site all year the answer by all of US who voted for Jason is "no," we do NOT think JC is the next Tom Brady. But it's an irrelevant question. We prefer to go with a quarterback who looks "good" and the choice you're advocating is a wild shot at a dime a dozen third string rookie project quarterback. We're advocating we use the time we have to continue to develop the quarterback almost certain to be our future the next five to ten years and you're advocating we put him on the shelf for the wildest of shots.
Wow, we have a late round pick meaning 31 teams besides us repeatedly passed on him and you think he just may be the next Tom Brady. Wow, what a stupid idea. Fortunately no one who's making the decisions seems to be listening to that nonsense. That Snyder, Zorn and JC are getting this sort of stupid idea from their detractors sure makes them look a whole lot more competent.
We do "deserve" a great quarterback. But what you're proposing is the equivalent of the people who don't save for retirement, they buy lottery tickets because they "deserve" to retire rich.

I don't really care right now too much, but if were mathmatically eliminated I would like to give Colt Brennan some experience and see what we need to work with him on in the off season.

yeah im with kazoo here.. Campbell needs time in this new system to get used to it.. i know its already been a full year almost but its hard to learn a system when you constantly have DLinemen chasing after you. Stick with Campbell and get some support on the O-Line

That's
exactly right. What happens when Campbell is benched, Brennan comes in and plays like a guy drafted in the 6th round (i.e., poorly)?
We start the whole QB thing over again? Junk the program and grab a new guy in the draft...who will take time to develop. What if he takes longer than a year? Dump him, too?
Instant gratification DOESN'T WORK IN FOOTBALL.

Remember I said if we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs than I want to see Colt Brennan play and asses were he is, and what he needs to work on. Why you ask? Easy I am starting to really doubt JC's flaws will go away, he has demonstrated with his losing record in the NFL that he just doesn't have what it takes to get the job done as a starter, and we should stop wasting our time with him. He has shown throughout his career, as a Washington Redskin that he holds on to the ball too long, he does not make good decisions, he does not think quick enough, he does not have natural instincts required to avoid the rush while moving around in the pocket to get the pass off. I repeat if we are MATHEMATICALLY eliminated from the playoffs, than we should play Colt to see were he is at, can he start next year or does he need more time to develop? In the offseason we should look to get rid of Campbell. You can only be a student for so long, in the NFL one can not perform while being a perpetual student. He has been a student for four years, thats too long. If we are mathematically eliminated than we need to cut our losses with JC and look for someone else to play Qb. If we win out though, and make the playoffs than we can keep seeing what JC can do. But if we loose against the Bengals than I think we should play Colt the last two games and see what he can do. If we beat the Bengals than loose to the Eagles and are eliminated from the playoffs, than without thinking we should play Colt the last week and see what he can do in game situations.

We can sign a free agent like the Bucs did with Brad Johnson when they won the superbowl, or what the Bucs did now with Garcia, or their division winning Panthers did with Delhome, or what the Jets and Dolphins did and completely turned their franchises around to winning records, or sign a veteran like the 11-1 Titans have done, you don't have to always draft someone.
