All of those questions can be answered with one word...
Consistency.

I think if our OL was better, Moss would be significantly better because he is most dangerous stretching the field but its hard when jason has 2 seconds to throw.

OL needs to be upgraded, but it takes JC to long to get rid of the ball. The last two games out of curiosity I timed from snap to release/sack on several plays and he gets about 3 to 4 seconds. There is less time on some plays, but thats seems to be the exception not the rule. There are several issues with his play from holding the ball to long, moving in the pocket and locking on to WR's that I don't believe they could assemble an OL to make him a great QB. A quick release and faster decision making would make the OL and WR's look much better. I think this is why they improved last year when Collins replaced JC, but I don't believe switching to Collins or CB would get them in playoffs this season.

What does that matter when they're always learning new things?
Offense - constant upheaval in scheme and thus they consistently suck...
Defense - pretty consistent in scheme and they're consistently good on the field...
It makes a difference when you're going into training camp and simply putting polish on a scheme you've been in for 3-4 years.

-- that there are other teams around this league with less talent than we have that are able to score points on offense?
It revolves around the QB. The ball is always in his hands and he is the one that directs the offense.
-- that this team always seems to underachieve?
Again, it is the offense. Personally, I think that we don't have competitors that are willing to do anything to win. I truly only think that CP and Moss are those types of players on offense. The remainder of this offense doesn't have a "stick it down your throat" until you cry for mercy attitude that is necessary to win in the NFL.
-- that this team always gets players that don't develop like other teams?
Front office. We have one of the worst 5 in football.
-- that this defense is always put into the position of having to do more while the offense does less?
When you have an inept offense that can't score, this is the direct result.
-- that this team always signs FAs that were good the season before on their old team but become garbage on ours?
That is the nature of FA. When you sign a FA to a huge contract, they have less incentive to work hard. That is a well documented idea. We generally pick up players after their contract year. Players always play well in their contract year. The front office is too dumb to take this into consideration (or they are too desperate --- which is the quickest way to get taken to the cleaners in this league --- see Jason Taylor).
-- that we have not addressed the O-Line and D-Line in the past two drafts?
Because we have one of the worst front offices in all of football. We have a dude who made his money off theme-parks picking players for us. We need a football guy and Vinny isn't one. Vinny's football responsibilities include agreeing with everything Snyder says.
-- that we are always mired in a QB situation or controversy?
Simple, because we haven't had a quality QB since Brad Johnson --- and even that is a stretch --- before that Rypien. If we had a QB, we wouldn't have this situation. JC is not the answer. It has been too long and I personally believe a lot of the problems this team has from an intangible persepective revolve around him.
-- that nobody on offense makes any spectacular plays?
I just don't think that we have the passion to make those plays. This team lacks passion.
-- that Steve Smith makes big plays and Moss doesn't even though he faces pretty much the same coverage that Moss get's?
Smith is a better player than Moss. Don't get me wrong, Moss is very good, but the two are not interchangeable. Smith is better. He does things that no one in the NFL does.
-- that we have nobody on the sideline to get in somebody's face or pump this team up?
That is because our offense is devoid of any leadership. Who should be the leader? My quess is the QB as they are the general leader on all teams. Fletcher is the defensive leader.

I personally just don't think the Redskins are that talented. That's why we don't win. We need talent and patience to let that talent develop and mesh into a new scheme

I don't think we have explosive players.
Moss - hammy
ARE - quick not fast
Portis - age has taken away his 2nd gear
Thrash -
Kelly - if he'd catch a pass I could tell you
Thomas - definitely an explosive player
So we have 2 guys that are explosive and could break a big one.

I have another question. Why do some people ask shallow, stereotypical Redskin bashing questions without providing any actual content themselves?

When there is a problem I always look at the common denomination=Front Office

The front office is a major problem. Not addressing the offensive line until it's too late, spending big money on wide receivers that don't deserve it (ARE is stealing a paycheck), etc. In addition to that, I think that the fact that we haven't had a legitimate qb in a long time is another part of the problems. I mean seriously, think about the qb's that we have had here during the Snyder era....Shane Matthews, Danny Wuerfell, Boooooonell, Tony Banks, Jeff George, etc. Jason Campbell has talent but at this point I think that he's been ruined just like Patrick Ramsey was, although with JC it has more to do with being in a different scheme every year than getting shell shocked as happened with Ramsey. You look at the good teams in the NFL and you see top offensive lines and good, consistent qb play. We have neither of those things right now and haven't had both for a long, long time. Until we get that it's going to be more of the same mediocre football.

Or........take it to smack. It has been awhile since we've seen any kind of smack-down and there is plenty anger and frusrtation around here, so I'll pop some corn and head to smack. Thanks

that means as much as we consistently play our home games at FedEx Field.
OR we consistently wear the wrong colors when we lose
CLL is right - this is really a thread that is going nowhere ...

I agree... different coaches, different players, and it seems like we've had the same issues with the product on the field as long as DS has owned the team... I'm not blaming Danny boy, but it is weird how we seem to have the same issues continually....
