I am going to go ahead & start the chant for this year because I see our playoff future slipping away. I hope our guys can perform on prime time TV as they have laid eggs in each of our 3 prime time games this year.

I hope the game on 12/28 in SF is for our playoff life as I will be in the second row behind the Skins bench.

Four in a row! Four in a row!

Go Skins!

I seriously doubt we'll make the playoffs. I wouldn't be shocked if we finish out with only 9 wins. And please don't bother with calling me a doubter cus if I haven't proven this to you already, I really don't care.

If we happen to make it, great.

we may be able to make it with 10 wins as long as 2 of those are the 2 NFC games remaining... even then we need a little help...

I don't think 10 wins will cut it. We'd have to get much better and about 3 other teams would have to stink it up the rest of the season for us to get in with 10 wins. I'm not saying I don't want the Redskins to make the playoffs, but at this point it's highly unlikely. Dallas and Atlanta are both a game ahead of us and Carolina and Tampa are both 2 games ahead (granted one of them will win their division). Even still that leaves three teams ahead of us right now for two wildcard spots. Not to mention, Philly, Chicago and New Orleans are only a game behind us. Realistically both wildcard spots could go to the NFC south. Heck, I think we'd be hard pressed to get in with 11 wins.

We own the tie-breaker with ATL and NO, and neither the Pies nor the Smeagols will be making the play-offs. We still have a fairly good shot at making it, but we need to win our remaining games, and that might be a tall order.

I dont see it as being that unlikely, we have the easiest schedule of the contenders and will probably get in with 3 more wins--

Keep the faith this is when we play our best football.

The Pokes will only win one, maybe two more games. Atlanta has a tuff road as well. But the EGirls are only a half a game behind us. So if they win out they would probably be in at 10-5-1. That half a game beats all other tie brakers (because they wouldn't be tied with any ten win team).

If the Skins win out they will most likely be in. One loss to either the Crows or Bungles and they would need a little help. A loss to the EGirls or Niners would mean they are!

Aint happening folks. The Ravens are for real and 10 wins won't get us in. Not to mention if we can't score in double digits we can't win.

Ooookaaayyy, and then what? We make it in. Wooohoooo. and get stomped in the first round cause we can't find a way to score more then 7-20 points. I mean I'm all for a winning record. I'm all for us doing well, but please don't get your hopes dashed by thinking we have a serious chance at the SB. This team has to many glaring problems to be fixed before we push for the SB. To be honest I'm tired of the 4, 5 or six in a row or we won't go ....its getting kinda old. A long with the ...1st round and we are down.

I know I'm being negative but I see Atlanta and wonder why can they score over 20 points and sometimes keep up with their opponents but we can't? Why? They are in the same boat. New coach, new system...they even have a new QB.

I'm going to really try to be positive, but I have to agree with Vriel1. If we do make the playoffs, I really see us being totally spent, Portis being completely broken, and a quick first round exit.

For us to make a real run at the playoffs, our offensive line needs to magically grow blocking abilities, our defensive line needs to generate pressure on the opposing QBs, and the rookies need to step up big time.

However... "any given day in the NFL"

We could just hope that everyone we play has really really off days :P [/u]

We can all sleep better knowing that even if Dallas makes it, their string of 0-fers in the playoffs will continue unabated

With the way our offense plays currently, we'd just get embarrassed in the 1st round.

Thinking about it - as much as this pains me - it would be better if we don't make the playoffs and work on the offencesive and defensive lines through FA and the draft and for the Eagles to make a run because that would empower the team to continue with Reid and the status quo which has shown time and again they can't win big games.

I agree with VSF, even if we do somehow make it in, I don't see us as being anything more than someone else's wildcard win.

Agreed, and if we made the playoffs and lost, folks would just be up in arms again. Did anyone seriously expect this team to be a Super Bowl contender this year with a rookie head coach and a new offense?

And without new blood at the DT position ...
And with two right DEs but no left DE ...
And with an old and tired OL ...
And without Sean Taylor ...
And with Jason alias "Schyzoprenic" Campbell ...
And with different combinations of kick holders ...
And with up and downs with Suishie ...
And with injuries to ...

Oh well, I am just happy they kept us somewhat interested. I had given up any expectations on a play off run BEFORE the season started.

Look at the bright sides:

We have a good new head coach. We acquired a promising young QB. How about Horton? The WRs -may- deliver eventually. Blache is better than I thought. We beat the Pukes and the Philthy fans in their houses!

And most importantly: Clinton Portis has been the best player to be in a Burgundy and Gold uniform for a LONG time. How long? well, since ... well, since Art Monk! How about that?

This doomsday stuff happened on this board last year too. The team was struggling and people immediately said no way do we make the playoffs. NO WAY. You really have to look at the remaining games and also the games of the other teams in the hunt.

I'm not saying that we WILL make the playoffs. But I think we still have as much of a chance or better than some of the other teams still trying to make it.

Our last four games are all winnable. Personally I expected to lose to NY last weekend, but I think we can beat the Ravens on Sunday.

ATL still has to play Tampa, Minn, and NO. Not only are those all tough games but those are all contending teams who are going to beat each other up.

Dallas still has to play Steelers, Baltimore and the Giants.

Either way this season has exceeded my expectations. I'm still hoping we make the playoffs.
