Injury Updates: Kelly and Springs to play

Running back Clinton Portis said his knee is still sore, and, although he remains limited in practice, he left no doubt that he will play Sunday in Seattle.

"It's coming along," Portis said. "I'm sore, but I'm playing this week, no ifs ands or buts about it."

As for the rest of the injuries, linebacker Marcus Washington is out with an ankle sprain, but everyone else is expected to go, with even DT Anthony Montgomery "coming on," Jim Zorn said, after being able to run at practice on his injured Achilles'.

Left tackle Chris Samuels' knee was stiff and he did not practice, but he's slated to play Sunday. Wide receiver Antwaan Randle El will rest with a low ankle sprain for a few days, but Zorn was very optimistic about his status. Cornerback Shawn Springs practiced fully for the first time in over a month and will play.

Wide receiver Malcolm Kelly looked very good in practice today, Zorn said, and he, too, is slated to play Sunday. Zorn praised Kelly's ability to get to passes just within his vicinity and make catches look easy. Kelly has missed most of the season with knee injuries.

Running back Ladell Betts "gave us something" at practice Zorn said, and his knee is coming along.

I am excited that Zorn will play Malcolm Kelly this week. I have been waiting for this all season. I expect big red-zone plays from him going down the stretch. Also, Springs should get a chance to prove his worth against his former team. I expect big things this week!

You mean like last week when Portis was going to be out and Springs was going to play? I agree with you. I'm taking a "wait and see" approach.

-OG Mike Wahle most likely won't be playing.
-Patrick Kerney was placed on IR today.
-Josh Wilson got hurt during practice, but no timetable has been released.

I will keep you 'Skin fans updated each day with injury reports and other news, but to read my blog about the analyst of the game and other information check out seahawksspot.com.

I would love to see Kelly perform as well. But Campbell cannot throw from his back last time I checked.

And regardless of whos out or tender on the other team. The Redskins offense needs to punch them in the mouth from the beginning of the game til the end of the game!

If the Redskins attack Jennings with Antwan or Santana you'll have no problem doing that. Our weakside has been Kelly Jennings this year. Trufant still has his cast and Lofa is just starting to get better from his injuries in the begining of the year. Our defense hasn't been the best like it was last year. We've only had five interceptions and two of them came from Josh Wilson. Wilson got hurt today and his timetable is unsure. Won't know until tomorrow.

Im optimistic about this, I hope Kelly gets in there and has a TD catch...I hope the rookies come up big this week.

Am I the only one confused ( probably, I'm slow like that ), if Hawk096 is playing with us or really giving us updates?

It's not about playing or giving you updates. I watch every play of every Seahawk game. If you did too you would notice it was their weakness on the defense side. You don't think Zorn and his staff are looking and noticing that?

Noooooo, Hawk. I was talking about injuries.

We were talking about Portis being hurt.

They said he would not play, then he played.

They said Springs would Play and he didn't.

Then you said Mike Wahle and Kerney were out.

I didn't know if you were pulling an opposite as above, or really giving an update.

See, we're not used to fans of other teams being honest here....usually dishonesty is what happens when knuckle-dragging Cowboys fans come on a Redskins board.

Zorn is saying Kelly MIGHT play.

He still wants to keep the tip toe burglar activated. THat's pissing me off.

Yeah. I don't know who they will deactivate Sunday to keep Alexander and Kelly active. I imagine Tryon could sit and Moore but Moore has done a lot on ST's lately. It will be interesting.
