Well I dunno about anyone else but it still gets to me. And when it does I often think and try to figure out why it does. I just assume that following a persons life day in and day out establishes some weird type of bond to that person.

I didn't realize that he was my favorite player until we lost him. You never know what you've got until it's gone, as cliche as it sounds...

Thats true. His death hit me hard and still makes me sad when I think about it. I always knew that he was my favorite player but I didnt realize how much I really liked him until after he died. I noticed I had the #21 involved in combinations and passwords and usernames. And like you I have no idea why.

Just watched the tribute video BH put together and read through the comments on the tribute page.

Very sad, indeed. Jackson and I were lucky enough to have that touching, but brief moment with him in training camp before that season, and I'm thankful for it.

He was always my fav player. I knew that he would come to his senses and be a star when he was wild in the beginning. I have his pro bowl jersey and his throwback. I wear my latter jersey frequently.

Same here he was great to my son they would talk football after most home games and we got to know a different side of him.

I believe his death change my son (for the better) in that he knows he is not invincible and that life is precious and short.

As I mentioned my son wore a 21 sticker this year on his helmet...Ironically he was nominated for the Casey Lynch Leadership/Courage Award. Casey was a young boy (14) who died on the football field 10 years ago.

I just want to say this..

I'm a die-heart Seahawk fan, but more then anything an NFL fan. I will never forget that sad day for your community and your team. It's crazy to know it's been a full year next week. I remember watching his funeral on NFL Network and crying my eyes. Yes I admit it I cried. He was an NFL player, a father, son and husband. I wish you guys the best of luck Sunday, but want you to know Sean Taylor will always have a spot in my football heart. Might not be as much as it is to you. He was your player I know if that happened to a Seahawk player it would have been a rough year for me. So I can't imagine how you guys have handled it or felt, but I can say this. Sean Taylor will always be remembered for proving people can change. Just hope Adam Jones realizes it. He's been blessed with a lot of second chances, but you never know when the time will come.

Me too. I always new he was my favorite player just due to the punishment he delivered to whomever he went up against. But, like you, I never realized just how much he meant to me until he was gone. I've lost two close friends since last November, and for whatever reason, I consider him one of them and have taken his death just as hard.

There is no way anyone could have seen it coming.

One year today we know have Gibbs retired again, a new head coach, we lost our best player, yet we are still in the hunt for the playoffs.

I miss him as much as anyone. Everytime a receiver catches the ball I think to myself ST would have clocked him!

Anyhow just think of it this way. STs uniform and helmet are retired and are there in the locker room. Everyday the players see him and remember how he played. He still inspires each and every day.

I know if I were on the squad id give his helmet a kiss for good luck then go play.

Reminds me a lot of the whole Thurman Munson time. I'm a die-heart Yankee fan, but wasn't born when he died. I study all the history of each sport and more importantly my favorite teams history. I still get emotional at the thought of Munson's death and as a NFL fan get emotional at the thought of Taylor and Darrent Williams passing. May they rest in peace and inspire people to change daily.
