Malcom Kelly out?

Rookie wide receiver Malcolm Kelly is progressing in practice, Zorn said, and has had no setbacks with his knee. However, Zorn does not expect to activate Kelly this week because he is "so far behind" but is encouraged by what he has seen.

What in the world is Zorn doing? I'm going to wait until the game before I really go off and I realize that he hasn't been ruled out yet but....

Are Malcom and Devin mentally retarded? Can they not learn a fade? Just bring them in for the redzone... THrow a jump ball. Jeeezzzusss....
With CP out, we need all hands on deck.

I honestly don't see the big deal in Malcolm not playing this week (if he's ruled out), he's barely contributed all season anyways. I trust what Zorn and the medical staff are doing with him and feel that when he's ready to contribute and proven his knee is healthy he'll be in the game.

Has he not been attending practices all along, though? He should know the system by now, even witthout having played.

All I'm asking for us a fade route in the endzone. That's all. LOL

I heard Sean Springs raving about this guy on the radio before the Pittsburgh game, I really hope we get to see him on the field soon. Springs, for the record, was also very high on Fred Davis.

Yeah they play that clip of Springs a lot from the John Thompson show I think where he says he thinks Fred Davis was the best guy that they got from the draft. Its kind of weird to hear him going off about him.

Kelly has practiced two days in a row now which is good and sounds pretty hyped about it.

I'm kinda with Chris though. Why can't this guy get on the field? He hasn't picked up enough of the offense in the past four months to get in for a few plays?

Anybody watched DeShaun Jackson or Eddie Royal play this season?

While I hope this is true, Chris Horton has gotten one hell of a head start in this category. :)

Speaking of Springs, is he playing this weekend? We sure could use his cover skills on TO. He 'almost' always seems to do a good job on TO.

I don't get it, either. Seriously, there are opportunities abounding for receivers with the Redskins. Devin Thomas must have had serious head trauma at some point...because he just doesn't seem to get it.

Maybe Carlos Rogers should play both ways.

I don't get Zorn, if Malcolm Kelly has looked in practice and is showing some boost and some speed, why wouldn't you put him in the game. the only way he is going to learn is in a game-situation. We haven't needed him in the 1st half, but if Portis is out for an extended amount of time, then Jason Campbell is going to have to rely on the WRs to make plays. Our only red zone target is Cooley and we seem to forget he's on our team when we get to the red-zone. Put Kelly in the game for at least the goal line formations and just see if he can come up with a jump ball. The Cowboys secondary is shaky at best and it would be a great time for Kelly to get acclimated to NFL play. He grew up a Cowboys fan, I say let him prove his worth against them. I want to see one of our offensive draft picks make a difference. I love Chris Horton, he's really the only pick that's showed up.

I just heard on the news that Springs hasn't practiced all week and he isn't looking good to play on Sunday.

I'm really glad we picked up D. Hall now. Springs mends like a 33 year old. Oh wait.

What guy are you talking about?

If it is Springs, the medical staff screwed up on him. They thought that he only had a pull and rushed him back too soon (against the Rams). They found out after that game that his calf is now torn! He probably made it worse by playing.

I tore my calf and it took a couple of months before I could jump or run and even then I had to watch out to ensure I didn't push it to hard. Then it took a while before I could do any explosive moves using that leg.

Even if Springs is back, I doubt he will be 100% or anywhere close to that. It might be better for him to wait a week or two more.

But make no mistake, he is a VERY GOOD corner (maybe still our best) when healthy. Why cut a guy just because he is injured?

Now I would seriously re-think weather to bring him back next year. Does anyone know how many years he has left on his contract? Is next year his last year?

Sarcasm? Are you talking about Kelly? I know the thread was about Kelly, but people had been talking about Springs. So who is your comment in reference to?

Where have you been all season? A THN regular should understand the reference.

BTW, I think he was talking about you.

I guess I need some more fiber, because I must not be regualar enough.

I know people have been calling both rookie WR busts this year, but it because of where PE's post fell it sounded like he was refering to Springs.

If this helps,
