A bittersweet day (or maybe just plain bitter)

I've been on the season ticket waiting list for eight years, ever since I graduated college and started working full-time. Today I got my season ticket offer from the Redskins. A week and a half ago I was laid off from work. And on top of all of that, the Skins lost a marquee Monday night game in spectacular fashion. :x

Sorry to hear about the employment, man. Good luck with the hunt.

Welcome to the unemployment line. I was laid of 3 weeks ago and I was really hoping for something good to happen, even if it was just a win by the Redskins(it would have been a very good week here in central PA to beat the Steelers) but it is what it is. Keep your head up, sometimes thats all you can do.

Dang C'ville, sorry to hear that bro. I had to move 600 miles to keep mine. Went from Sterling VA to Charleston SC.... I feel your pain bro, hopefully things will get better soon.

Sorry to hear about your job losses. It looks tough. I hope for the best for both of you and any others who might be negatively affected.

Like the Skins after last night, may I suggest to take advantage of this untimely loss to rethink your outlook to the future and what you can do to make it better and avoid similar problems in the future?

I found that doing this was very valuable to me once while in a deep personal financial crisis. I was about to lose my first home. I was one month away from ending up on the street. It changed my life for the better.

Sucks man. Sorry to hear about the job. Its awful how many people I've heard about losing their jobs over the past few weeks.

This economy is going to get worse before it gets better.

I hope everybody gets out to vote today. Vote whichever guy you think will do the best job of getting this mess straightened out.

Oh and Skins tix can wait. Don't sweat it.

Laid off here too, first time in 22 years of my trade. A skins win would have made me feel a bit better but.

When do you have to pay up for those tickets? I'd hate to see you have to let them go due to bad timing.

It's interesting: they keep offering me the tickets. And now they don't even require a multi-year contract and even waived the $100 per-seat fee. Anyone else's number come up on the waiting list recently?

I can't right now. If anyone's desperate to buy the season and isn't on the list, I'd be glad to be the middle man.

My number came up last year. There was NO way that I'd pay to see that crappy product that they were putting on the field. I guess that I'll be back at the end of the list...

That's what I thought, but they keep sending me stuff.

I got an offer the last few years, but not this year, I hope they haven't given up on me.

I've been up to buy season tickets for about 6 years. Man, what foresight of me not to do it, or just dumb luck

I'm not sure how the process works, but my number came up last summer and since then they have sent me letters pretty regularly offering me seats. I wish I lived in DC because I would would do it.
