Is it wrong to pull for the pukes this week?

If the Pukes win they catch up to us by one.
But we could pass the Giants if that happens, and if we win.
I want the Giants to lose so we can catch them.
But I always want the Pukes to lose. And I want them as behind us as possible when Romo gets back and they try to make their playoff run.
I'm really torn on this. Maybe I should hope for a overtime draw. Nobody wins.

All I can say is... We have to win and not worry about what they do. It'll be a lot less important if we get beat on MNF.
I'd rather the Cowboys lose. That'd put a nice nail in their coffin.

Not if we win, too.
All we can hope for, is that both teams beat up on each other, and let the chips fall where they may.

At the end of the season this would make sense. It's like when you're up 12 after a TD and it's just the start of the third quarter, you kick the extra point. It's too early for this. Go Gnats!
this week ONLY

So far, we have the tie breaker for the Cowgirls. The Giants have the tiebreaker on us. I still pull against the Cowboys in any game they play.

Pull for whomever is playing the Cowboys under all circumstances even when it is the Iggles and Gnats.

fyi, pulling for the pukes is a direct violation of the redskins' fan laws. article 1 sect. 13a
Do we root for the pukes over the Giants?

A Pukes win puts the Giants at 6-2. WHEN we win tomorrow, we will be 7-2, a half-game ahead of the Giants for 1st place in the East. Should we pull for the Pukes? Or just not be depressed if they win?

For the record, the thought of pulling for the Pukes to ever win makes me sick to my stomach, but I dislike the Giants almost as much as I dislike the Pukes.

The Cowboys are good and will be better when healthy. I says root for the Giants and then we get them...let's put them away while we have the chance!!

A Pukes win makes the Monday night game a bit less important. Dont get me wrong, it'd still be a nice win to have. Dont forget, IF we were to beat the Giants in Fed-Ex, and our overall records are the same, the next tie-breaker is div. record. As hard as it may be to stomach, a Cowboys win benefits us in many ways. Kinda like NASCAR, we're big picture racing(for those of you who get that). Think homefield for the playoffs.
Here's a hypothetical scenario:
Cowboy's win (unlikely but) Ginas would be 6-2 with a div. 1-1
Redskins loss (possibly) we're 6-3 with a div. 2-1
Ginas come to Fed-Ex, provided both teams win all to that point, Redskins win that, and we have the same record but we're 1st in the div. and overall leading the NFC (most likely)
Now, a Cowboys win and a Redskins win REALLY puts us in the drivers seat. It takes alot of pressure off the second half of the season, given our div. games are all home.
A Ginas win and and skins loss puts us in catch up mode for winning the NFC outright and having homefield throughout, thats the ultimate goal for now isnt it? It doesnt make it impossible, just less room for error and takes away the possibilty of resting guys for the playoffs in the last 2 games.
I think most of you guys get this, Im just trying to make it a bit easier to root for the pukes today(even for myself) Remember, think homefield throughout and what that would mean for us!

Root for the Giants. They are going to make the playoffs anyway. Dallas...maybe not. Especially if they lose with Romo out.

What about a situation that a Pukes win in week 17 is needed for us to go to the playoffs? What if we were in a situation where, if they won their game, we get the Wild Card spot, but if they lost, we get left out of the playoffs? Is it then wrong to root for them? I started this topic in a different forum and posed this same question. Maybe we should just not be dissappointed if they win? If they loose, great, but if they win, that is ok, b/c we will be in 1st place if we win tomorrow night. Just a thought.

You gotta look big picture. Chances of ostseason success are greatly enhanced by playing at home. And, to play at home, you need to win the division.
Winning this division also probably comes with a first-round bye. That means catching the Giants.
By any means necessary.
There's still a lot of season to go and I think there will be sufficient chances for the Redskins to get it done on their own.
But for next week ... go Eagles!?

Wow, just wow. I know it woulda been better for us if the Giants had lost, but it was still sweet watching the 'Pukes fall completely apart.

I agree, I wouldn't have minded if the Giants lost that game, it'd definitely help our cause.
My love for the Redskins comes before my hatred of Dallas.

It's the middle of the year. If we were jockeying for position at the end of the year I could agree with you. But how is wanting a stake driven through the Cowboy's heart putting your hatred of them above love for the Skins? I watched the end of the game and was TOTALLY rooting for the Gnats. Kill the Girls, leave the Gnats to us.
