I can't believe the Ravens aren't in trouble for this. Putting bounty on players to injure them, I know there trying to put in context to just knock a player out of the game, but I don't believe it. I think they should be disciplined for their actions, I think purposely injuring a player should have no place in the game. They ended Rashad's season and now this with Hines Ward. I think trying to injure a player on purpose should have no place in any sport not just football. Even if everyone does it, it still doesn't make it right. I think Suggs should have been suspended or fined, if there was a bounty on Rashad the Ravens should be in trouble for it, I don't believe they were just trying to be physical with him. I just can't see how purposely injuring a player could be good for the game in any way, even if its just for a game. If they were going to try and just hit a player hard and get physical with them, why didn't they just say that instead of putting a bounty on him and knock him out of the game?

It was just a figure of speech. You're getting worked up over nothing. Ward got Ed Reed with cheap shot. So the players took up for him and wanted to give Ward some love on his behalf.
- It's no different than when Heyer took up for Portis. If Heyer had caused that guy some type of injury they'd be saying the same things about him.
- Fans here applauded Sean Taylor for hitting guys out of bounds and guys headed out of bounds.
- We celebrate DIRTY 30 for leveling defenseless WR's by making videos of it and encouraging.
This isn't hopscotch, this is football. A poor choice of words to say to the media, that's all. Let's hop off of our high-horses here for a second cus we have some dirty plays of our own to tidy up.

Billick also commented on the Ray Lewis hit that took out Mendnehall. He said it was a clean hit. Same with the famous Lawrence Taylor hit on Joe Theismann. But Lewis shouldn't have been talking about it to people who don't have a context for it.
Talk about not talking when you don't have context. For Billick to compare Lewis BRAGGING about the Mendenhall hit with Lawrence Taylor's reaction to the fracture of Theisman's leg is ridiculous... Taylor was openly horrified about what had happened, and could not apologize to Theisman enough.
Yeah... context, coach. The two are not the same.
On the other hand, I think CLL is right. I'm sure this is discussed often within the cloister of the defenses meeting rooms.

If i hit someone as hard as lewis hit mendenhall, i would have been pretty stoked too. Also, the Theismann injury was visible, audible, and just plain disgusting.

Yeah, I agree with Brad.
Although Carlos didn't do cartwheels, he was stoked after he hit the snot out of that Browns WR... He was stoked after he hit one of Phillies WR's too.
Ray Lewis is NOT SUPERMAN he does NOT have X-ray vision. He had no way of seeing the kids bone structure and knowing he hurt him that bad.
The boy needs to go drink some milk with Malcom Kelly.

I agree C.. I think he could've worded it alot different.. "when we see Hines Ward again, we'll make sure he knows how Ed felt".. something along those lines w/out the word "bounty"

Mendenhall called out the whole Ravens defense. Serves him right.
You dont call out one of the greatest Linebackers ever when you are a rookie. If you do you better back it up.
OBviously we know he didnt do jack. THank you very much goodnight!
