Hey all,
I have my 1 yr wedding anny coming up and we are going up to Philly (dont worry we hate the Iggles) because the wife has never been and wants to see the city. The bummer is that we are going on a Sat and Sun night. I refuse not to watch the game or to watch the game in a hotel room. Does anyone from downtown Philly know any Redskin friendly bars around there. Before this thread gets locked and the list of redskin bars from around the country gets posted, there are NONE on there. There are 2 bars in PA on there nowhere near Philly. So I was trying to get a heads up from anyone who lives out there and add another 1 to the list. Thanks and HAIL!

I am not sure about anything in philly, but there are a few places out mainline/ lancaster ave. that are redskins friendly, Flip and Baileys is one of those places but its a little of a hike from the city.

I should be able to give you a specfic bar by the end of the day.
(many of my friends go to villanofun and I am just waiting for a response.)
Have you tried looking for a universal bar, like a espn zone or wildwings?

thanks for the advice guys! I have not tried a universal bar yet, that is my last resort. I would rather watch the game at a "redskins bar" if there is such a thing in Philly. I know in the middle of BMORE there is a bar called the sly fox, which is one of the coolest redskins bars I have been too. I was hoping that there was a place like that in Philly that someone could gimme some heads up on. Thanks again for the advice and please let me know if when/anyone hears anything!

Bad news, it looks like it's time to look into universal bars.
This was the response from one of my buddies, who is a senior at villanova, when I asked about Redskins bars.
"no, none Ive ever found... its tough even wearing my skins jersey around"
So good luck, I mean you could try these:
http://www.thebayoubar.com/homepage.php
http://www.cavssportsbar.com/
And here is the main website if those above two don't work out.

I'm from Eagles Country and have been a Redskins fan since 1974. I've often gone to the Vet and one game at the Linc and I know one thing, there are no Redskin-friendly places in Philly-- ANYWHERE!
I never wear my jersey to a game in Philly because you get harrassed. Also, once we had Big Daddy Dan Wilkinson's wife sit next to my wife and I at a game and was heckled by the fans in the row above us. She would woop it up after every favorable Redskins' play and held her own and I suppose we were somewhat spared getting hit with things because of her relative celebrity. That was about '99 and I recall we lost which may have helped with our exit from the stadium.
Here's what you do. Go to the closest, reasonably nice sports bar you can find. And, don't wear your Redskins jersey unless you want things thrown at your head. Since we're not playing Philly, you may fare a lot better but I wouldn't chance it.
Bare none. Philly is the toughest town to go into if you're a fan of a rival. If you're a Dallas fan in Philly and stupid enough to advertise it, you'd better have a good life insurance policy.

. They are the worst kind of inbred specimens on earth.

They are -almost- the worst kind of inbred specimens on earth.

Yeah, a fight between a Philly and Dallas fan has to violate one of the U.S.'s animal cruelty laws. I'll have to consult Mike Vick's lawyer on that one.

I live here. You'll be fine if you go to a bar in Center City - even in Skins gear. Stay away from the corner bars in the neighborhoods but in the tourist sections you'll be absolutly fine.

Hey man...
I'm a transplant from NoVA. Been in Phili 5 years. I usually goto the Fox and Hound on the corner of 16th and Spruce. It's right in Center City and you get a good amount of Skins fans. Not too mention the Big ASS screens. Let me know where you are staying and I'll give you some restaurants to hit as well. Philadelphia has MUCH better eating than DC. Hail SKINS!
