UGH I HATE INJURIES

I have to admit these injuries are starting to worry me. I know we have played so well with out a number of players at numerous times but I hate to rely on so many backups. Springs, Taylor, Griffin, Heyer, and Washington all missed practice again today due to injury. I think if all these guys sit this weekend then it could be us just thinking we can beat STL without em' which is dangerous. Given we have beaten way better teams but I STILL WANT MY STARTERS IM GREEDY!! Who do you guys think we need the be on the field the most this weekend?

I say Springs...

LoL, 100% on springs.

I should've gone with TAylor, since he needs all the reps he can get to gel with the D

I chose Griff. I see a big difference in our DL play when he's not in the game. In both run stoping and pass rushing. Which then affects the entire D from the CB to LB all the way back to the safeties. When our safeties have to make the stop on run plays, that's never a good thing.

Springs is needed. Behind the three vets we have (Springs, Rogers, Smoot) we have no experience.

Griff on the pass rush? I'll give ya hte running game, but we have no pass rush. Especially in the Dallas game, the Ends would come around, two steps forward into the pocket. No pressure.

Might not be much pressure. But there is more with Griff in there.

Not many people give him the credit he deserves. There is a reason that neither Gohlston or Mongomery(sp?) has not taken his place. There is a reason he is the starter.

As far as Springs goes, he's tops as well. When I was picking, it was either Springs or Griffen. But we do have two good CB is Rogers and Smoot.

Springs skills come in handy against a guy like T.O. Big, Strong, and not all that fast. IMO Rogers and Smoot do a better job agains speedy WRs. I don't know a lot about the Rams WRs, other than knowing Holt has been a great WR for years. So, I can't say which would be better in this case.

I vote none of the above.

We played a great game in Philly against a high-powered offense without these guys.

If they come back that's great, but we've shown we can play without them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we should cut them, and certainly any one of them will improve our defense upon their return, but I don't think we need to rush any of them back before Pittsburg.

Injuries are a part of football! Aside from no TO's I think one of the most impressive things about the Skins this year is that they have gotten to 4-1 despite the injuries.

I think Cornelius Griffin is the most important, then Springs.

I'd like to see Malcom Kelly get better soon. He can add a new dimension to the offense, stretch the field and challenge for jump balls.

I agree. Griff is the most important out of this group right now. Our corners can handle the Rams WRs as long as we get some pressure on Bulger.

I'll let my avatar speak for me this time.

i think our defense has played solid without him and he should get his game legs back first and make sure he is 100% first, for the rest of the season.

It's not necessarily an all or nothing choice. Maybe some play w/o overdoing it would be good for him. Given our record and the teams we have up the next few weeks, I can't imagine they'll play him right now unless the Doctors are sure playing can't do any more damage to the injury.

I would like to see him play but not start. I think it is best to err on the side of caution with him and have him play 10-15 plays. Lets work him back into the mix slowly. Demetric Evans has stepped up big in the absence of Taylor and payed very well especially against the run and that will big against stopping Stephen Jackson.

From the Redskins.com blog:

Aside from Doughty, though, everyone did at least light reps. Marcus Washington looks like a gametime decision; Jason Taylor “moved well in the limited reps we gave him,” according to Coach Zorn, and is likely to play even if he can’t start; Shawn Springs was cleared and should play; Cornelius Griffin “looks like he’s gonna be okay.

It would be great to get everyone back but getting Springs back and (apparently) not having to go without Griff is a big plus

Well, it looks like we might have them all playing this weekend. The only huge ? is Washington, but he hasn't done much this year and we haven't needed him with HB Blades playing well.
