They sound the same, but mean different things (the kids call that a
homophone). Slow down a little bit and use them properly. Thanks!

Also, I'd like to clear up the great then/than debate.
Then is a condition of time.
If this happens, then I will do that.
We are not leaving until then.
Than refers to quantity.
I have more of this, than I do of that.
Other than that once, I've never seen him before.

Sadly, while I know you're being facetious, most of the posts on this or any other board look more like yours than not -- unintentionally so.
<sigh>
Spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax...not just for breakfast anymore.

I gave up on this years ago.
People accuse you of being a grammar nazi when you're really just trying to help them look somewhere near literate.
If you're making a list though, you better include
our and
are.

More than, Less than, Other than, Better than, Rather than.
That is all.

JSP, what prompted the bumpage on this thread, brother? Did a few of our less literate brethren give you a mind-ache with some posts lol?

It just seemed that the "then/than" thing was spreading from the usual offenders to those that had previously not been making that mistake. I've noticed an alarming rise in the "our/are" factor as well. I know it's kind of nit-picky, but it makes otherwise intelligent posts lose some of their weight when they are riddled with grammatical errors.

Very true. I don't expect everyone to be as anal-retentive as I am when it comes to posting without spelling and/or punctuation errors (I will edit posts hours and sometimes even days after the fact if I discover any such), but it is hard to take somebody's thoughts seriously if they look like they were composed in Mrs. Giannati's 4th grade class.
Glad to see it's not just me.
