I agree. Right now they are at a C+. Prior to the season, I had the skins at 2-1 up to this point. I am happy with the passing game and am optimistic right now. As of sunday, the skins played a horrible game in week 1 (D-), a very solid game in week 2 (B+), and a solid game in week 3 (B). That averages out to a C+.
The true grading will be done after next week. If we are to accept the fact that week one was just rust, this team will have to prove that on sunday. If they don't show up, then it most likely means that they are only slightly better than mediocre teams -- which won't cut it in our division.

You know, if the Redskins can win one of the next two games, I'll gladly give them a B+! If, they win both games, A+! If they lose both games, C+. I think these next two games will be a pretty good measure of how good of a team we have. Regardless of the overall team, I give Jim Zorn so far an A-. I think he has exceeded my expectations, especially in these last two games.
I can't help but to feel that confidence in this team that I haven't felt since Gibbs I!

I said C they have only played a legit 1.25 game. The 1st game was terrible and only the this week and the 4th qtr against the saints we looked good.

I give them a a B-. I love the fact that this offense is now coming alive. Big kudos to Zorn for bringing a vigor, hunger to win, modern day offense. Kudos to JC for stepping up and being the player we all hoped for.
Things I would like to see is Devin Thomas, Malcom Kelly, or Fred Davis become more involved in the offense. One of these three if they can somehow mature early and play at a high level , this will elevate this offense to the top of this league.
Portis can catch the ball coming out of the backfield.

ey is steady as a rock and is always open. Moss is good in space and a deep threat at all times. We just need one more third down converter. An Art Monk type guy. My hopes are that one of the rookies step up soon or maybe by the end of the season.
As far as defense goes. The defense took a half step back. With the loss of ST that left a gaping hole. But there is hope, we have the young Landry who stepped up big last year and is continuing to get better and better. Also the emergence of Horton has helped tremendously. Smoot is steady and consistent. Heck even Rogers is starting to play at a high level. Springs is a saavy vet when healthy.
Still the team needs one or two more explosive playmakers. Maybe another defensive lineman. Another Explosive linebacker. I expect this to be taken care of in the draft next year.
Other than that , I love what I am seeing. The team is progressing and that is what I love baby. Woo! Booooo! Cowboys! Boooo!

I'd give the team a C right now. We don't suck, but we haven't proven we're anything special yet.
I'm curious about that for you guys who are rating the team a B or whatever. In what area is this team above average? Maybe Tight End Play? Turnover ratio?

Against New York we played like crap and were still in the game at the end. I give that game a D -, B+ against the Saints special teams prevents them from an A. A- against the Cardinals, I know we had our problems but we contained one of the big two, and came up with big plays to win the game, thats why I gave them an A-. There gpa to me would be 2.6, based on my grades so far.

Let's see... Besides the two you mentioned, we're in the top 10 in the NFL in points allowed, kick return yards(Cartright), passer rating(Campbell), rushing yards per game(Portis), receiving yards per game(Moss), receptions(Moss), interceptions (Horton), and we are tied at number 11 for sacks allowed. How's that?

The Redskins look better and better. So far, I've got no complaints about Zorn's coaching. He's not as good as Vince Lombardi or Joe Gibbs (my "gold standard of football coaches), but he doesn't look like he'll be Norv Turner or Steve Spurrier.
All around, pretty good so far.

Totally agree. I love how we don't seize up in the fourth quarter anymore. Zorn is agressive with the lead and doesn't call three consecutive running plays to finish the game like Gibbs did.
Zorn's playcalling is extremely impressive. He's got these guys believing in his system after three weeks of the season. He already has as many wins as Bill Walsh had in his first season as a head coach. I'm early with this but I'm officially on record as naming him "The Mad Hatter." This guy is shaping up to be a brilliant neurotechnician.

Sounds good!
I really just want to see the Redskins go out and really spank somebody. I don't care who it is, I just want them to whip up on somebody really good.
