Campbell thought he had the wrong personnel for Zorn's play, so he called something else. He hit tight end Chris ey for a 23-yard completion over the middle, igniting a touchdown drive on which he went 5-for-5 for 82 yards.

"I think that was the biggest play in the game," Campbell said.

Added Zorn: "That was all Jason Campbell. I had nothing to do with that play."

Here's the part I liked:

Campbell, of course, also drew raves from Zorn for the 67-yard go-ahead touchdown pass to Santana Moss on the next possession. Campbell audibled the pass protection at the line of scrimmage, noticed there was no safety playing deep, stepped up to avoid the rush and hit Moss in stride.

Reminds me of the story last year of Campbell calling his own play and hitting ey for a long touchdown. The kid does show good instincts from time to time.

Well Gibbs did anyway - Zorn may not. If this is J. Camp's make or break year they should not handcuff him.

You gotta love the Zorn-han, baby. As much as I will always love, respect and admire the King, Gibbs' reticence with the media and his vanilla responses did get tiresome during losing streaks.

JZ doesn't even know what he doesn't know, so new is he to this level. But he also doesn't really care, I think. He knows he's going to make some bonehead mistakes, but he's cool with it. How can you not get behind a guy like that?

Im not buying that Zorn had nothing to do with that.
Zorn was a former qb and is rubbing off on JC. His mechanics have improved tremendously since Zorn has arrived. All though it was not the play Zorn called his coaching has helped the young JC.

I do like that JC is stepping up and becoming a leader and making a descision when one needs to be made.

I remember a game last year in which Campbell's helmet communication from the coaches was lost. It was a 3rd and long and Campbell called a play on his own in the huddle. It was a pass to ey that got them a first down. I remember several others as well.

Although I don't know this as fact, I'm not sure Gibbs and Saunders ever let JC audible at the line of scrimmage. If true, I have no idea why. When a QB is behind center, only then can he survey the field and recognize defensive schemes, such as a safety not covering the middle of the field, as with the play to ey from last week.

Zorn will be the best thing that ever happens to Campbell. I truly believe Zorn will not hold JC back. Watching the offense progress this season will be very interesting to say the least, and I'd bet we haven't even seen 50% of it.

Thanks, HB. I grew up in the OC, lived off of Delaware for many years. I miss the original Surf City. Agree on Zorn. He is a breath of fresh air that will do wonders for this franchise if he's given the time to get the players he wants and needs in there.

I just hope the Dan has learned patience by now -
