University of Maryland football

I was just thinking every year it seems like they always have a problem with Qb's. We haven't had a solid one since Mcbrian maybe Sam. I was thinking that Maryland should take the Nebraska approach to football in this sense. Maryland does not have the resources to be a Texas, USC, or Flordia State year in and year out, but thats whats demanded of them. I am not talking about financial, that they do. I am talking about Natural resources, most players on college teams come from that state. Michigan, Ohio state, USC, the Flordia schools (UF, USF, Miami, FSU), Texas, those places love football and have great high school football players in their home state. California doesn't live and breath football but there also 20 percent of the US population so they still can be great while recruiting solely in state. I think that UMD should go to an option type offense were they will only need a couple of great players and they can blood and guts there way to a victory against Miami's, Tennesse, and schools like that, instead of trying to win off being more athletic. This year I don't think they can do that because its too late. But do you think taking this approach would be better. I think next year they can do it with Portis (Josh) and than start recruiting one for the future. I think Maryland in the long run could be a lot better if they took this approach. They can control the clock and keep the high powered offenses off the field.
