Who Owns Comcast Sports....?

I sure hope it's not The Danny.....
There's a game this Sat. on Comcast on Directv ....Skins vs. Bills. I am looking forward to watching it from way out here in Cali.

But, if the Danny does own Comcast, there's a chance that he could block it from my area.....for whatever reason he deems fit. He blocks several other Redskins broadcast already.... sucks for me !!!

I sure hope it's NOT blacked out this Saturday. Please please pray for me and the fans on the West Coast......

I think Comcast Cable owns Comcast sports. As to why they block the games, I don't know. Call your provider and find out why it would be blocked. I hope you can see the game.

Well, let's see... a tropical storm is crossing the LA/TX coast as we speak... An earthquake of 6 on the Richter scale has just struck in central Szezhuan Province, in China... there is genocide in The Sudan...

but we need to make sure you get to watch a preseason football game on Comcast, because The Danny has put you on his list of peons to be persecuted...

comcast airs all of the skins preseason action.

on directv 629 the past four or five years, i have been able to watch pregame and post game preseason stuff, but as soon as the game airs, the screen WILL go black for you and me and anyone else not in the DC area. it will air a service code of 721, i believe, and state that this program is not available in your area. they even tepmted us a couple of years ago by letting the skins run out of the tunnel, and onto the field. then it went black. just enough to tease you and make you cuss the tv and throw things.

but, long story short, you WILL NOT be able to watch the game live in your area. it has something to do with local advertising rights for the preseason. the best you can do is watch the replay on nfl network when they replay it.

sorry, but even prayers won't help your cause. ;) (niether will calls to directv..... been there, done that)

It's about Federal regulation, and self-serving, anti-free market laws designed to protect local broadcasters.

Look at it this way...

If I can choose to watch all DC market stations up here in Maine, and my neighbor can choose to watch all Boston market stations, and his neighbor can watch all LA market stations, then there is no one left to watch the Portland, Maine markets stations... now, personally, I don't care if the Portland stations wither and die... they are useless purveyors of the self-important and superficial Boston lifestyle... but they care... and their lobbyists care... and, therefore, their paid representatives in Congress care...

And, so, you and I don't get to watch local TV from another market.

Can't blame the Danny for this one.

exactly.

its the same reason you see directv and sunday ticket ads, during a sunday ticket game instead of the ads in the local slot.

thats also another reason that you can't watch any game in your local market on the sunday ticket channels. they are blacked out to force you to watch the local bs.

that has only happened in the last three or four years.i've had the ticket for about 8 years, and like everything else, it has gotten more expensive, with less features...... unless you want to spend even more money on 'superfan' package crap.

hell, i pay directv 9.99 a month for HD programming, but ticket isn't included. got to pay extra for games in HD.

it's all a crock.

Weeeeell Trey, I mean, so your not supposed to want to see your favorite football team because of all that's going on in the world (or in his case, his area)? I disagree my friend because if that was the case, none of us would care about football being that our guys/gals are dying around the world fighting for us.

What???? With all the real misery going on in the world, you would have me believe that we should pray to God so that this guy can watch a football game?????

Take heart, I hear the Bills Redskins will be live on NFLN as well as Comcast.

Unfortunately, if you rely on Comcast or Time Warner for your cable... you don't have NFLN...

Fortunately, I have DirecTV!!! \:D/

Actually, you are mistaken my friend. I have Comcast and the NFL network in regular and HD programming. Plus, I have Comcast sportsnet which broadcast Redskins specific programs. Bwahahahahahahahha...Take that Direct TV.

How unfortunate. Stupid Comcast. I was counting on the collective misery of millions to refuel my frozen heart. On the other hand, I am surrounded by Red Sox fans, who are about to return to their tradition of the September punch in the stomach...
