JLC wrote that there were 28,000 people at Skins camp today. For those of you who were there would you agree with that estimation? I have always known Skins fans were the most devoted in the league but I would not have thought 28,000 people would have gone to camp AFTER Gibbs left. The sorry no account Iggles fans still brag about 10,000 of them going to training camp in 2004 when they had T.O. This is just another tangible example of the stregnth of the Skins fan base versus that of the Iggles.

Fan Appreciation Day Draws Record Crowd!
Redskins fans were in their glory on Saturday afternoon, as the team hosted its annual Fan Appreciation Day at Redskins Training Camp.
More than 28,000 fans attended the Fan Day festivities, the team reported. That figure shattered the previous training camp attendance record of 25,000 fans in 2004.
"It was unbelievable," head coach Jim Zorn said after an intra-squad scrimmage. "It was tremendous to see everyone come out and get a look at what we're going to put on the field. It's a real deep admiration between fans and the traditions of Redskins football."

I actually braved the crowds, and went today, and I'd have to believe them when they say that. It was packed! Crowds of fans lined all around the field, not just on the one side, but across the field as well, and along the goal posts. It was a great turn out, and was able to meet a lot of great Redskins fans! Got to talk to Randy Thomas, and he said Zorn addressed them after he came to talk to the fans today, and stated how impressed Zorn and the players have been with the turnout this year at training camp. Randel El, was the big standout player of the day, and Campbell seems to really be coming along!
