Troy Hambrick, a former running back with the Dallas Cowboys, was sentenced to five years in federal prison on Tuesday for selling crack cocaine to an undercover informant.

United States District Judge Steven D. Merryday issued the sentence to Hambrick, who pleaded guilty three months ago to selling 78 grams of crack cocaine.

Hambrick, 31, sold the drugs in September 2007 near his home in Lacoochee, Florida.

He reached a plea agreement on February 22, admitting to three of the five counts of crack cocaine trafficking filed two months earlier.

What is it about former Cowpies and crack?

It isn't news when a current or former Puke gets arrested. It is only news when they DON'T get arrested.

In all fairness, there are some redeeming benefits for football players that sell crack. The risks involved with selling crack can train you to run faster. . .
