How does Pierce get away with only a fine? Shouldn't there be some community service or something? I know he didn't kill any of them ,but he surely didn't care for the dogs he owned!! I don't get it. Maybe you have to win a superbowl first Mr. Vic.

This would need to be in Smack for me to express my opinion on animal cruelty.
The most I can post here is that this is further proof, not that we needed any, that no amount of money, formal education or success gives a person any sense.

His sentence was light because he didn't lie.

There likely was also something to do with the fact that he wasn't using them in gladiator-style matches, and training them by methods that included torture and execution for poor performing dogs...

This is so far below what Vick was doing. . .I can't believe there's even a comparison being drawn.

I agree with you that AP is scum. Maybe thats why the Redskins didn't sign him because they knew something about him that we didn't

Man, what is it with this board and dogs. . .

Someone can murder women and children, and of course that's not a good thing, but so help me God if you don't feed that puppy!

Dude, I feel the same exact way... I love animals, they're great and should be treated well but people need to get a grip.

I believe that some people would toss their own child in front of a moving vehicle just to save a dog.

No, but I would toss other people's children in front of moving vehicles, whether or not saving a dog was involved.

And, some of us recognize that sadistic treatment of animals is the one factor held in common by all psychopaths, mass murderers and their wannabees. I have been consistent, whether it is the thuggish gang behavior of Adam Jones or the sadistic treatment of animals by Michael Vick. I place them all in the same basket of individuals with no conscience, whom do not deserve my sympathy."

I'm sorry but whats wrong with a person saying that a person abusing a animal is wrong? Yeah, animals are not as important as a human life but thats not the name of this thread. The thread is AP is fined for dog abuse and people were putting their two cents into AP abusing the dog.

So what you're saying is that you agree with how he feels. He wasn't really going at anyone in this thread in particular. I know that my comments were loose feelings off of the Vick incident where I felt that people are too dog crazy sometimes. And both FFA and I believe that a lot of people put dogs lives right beside or above humans. Crazy? It's true.

Me? I'll kick the snot out of your dog.

(1) I think what Pierce did (and didn't do, in the case of neglect) was morally wrong.
(2) I also had chicken for dinner tonight.

I need to perceive the world in such a way those two facts can be true without me being a hypocrite. In my arrogance, I happen to think I've got a more balanced perspective on humans and animals than what I see in the typical 'dog abuse' thread on THN. (One guy was talking about getting a tatoo of Vick being raped by a dog.)

I guess all I mean to say is that it takes a little more for people to make my 'scum of the earth' list than it does for CT. That's okay. . .I think CT knows that, too. And I really can't blame him. :)

True, that. Not everyone can live with standards as low as mine.

Thanks CLL, that's EXACTLY where it was posted.

Vetskins, while it's nice to see that you've figured out how to use the "quote" function, you can stop following me and my posts just to try and upset me. (Unless, of course, you have nothing better to do.) It's not working, and I only average about 4 posts a month during the offseason.

Have a great day

I didn't catch it until it was here. If you think I follow you specificly, then you're sadly mistaken. You just happen to be in the right place at the right time. And I always have a good day!
