..something smells fishy...Please God, please tell me that Snyder went out to Arizona to interview Grimm!!!

The Redskins aren't expected to name a new head coach before Monday.

The Washington Post and everyone covering the situation expects the Skins to tab Jim Fassel, though there's always the chance a "mystery candidate" will emerge with Dan Snyder running things. The Post did some searching, and Brian Billick says he's "following (the search) from afar." Marty Schottenheimer would not return to Washington, Jimmy Johnson and John Madden are happy with their current gigs, and Bill Cowher is staying retired.

Quite frankly, if I was Dan and had to make this choice, I'd be stalling too. In reality, or at least in my opinion, the selection pool isn't very intriguing. None of the candidates have been all that appealing and theres not many coaches out there that are available.

My initial interest was with Williams. But something happened there and he's gone. Other than Gregg, Mariucci is the only coach, anywhere, right now that even commands the slightest bit of interest, from me anyway. Meeks, Fassel, Spags, Schartz? Not thrilled with any of those guys.

For me, hiring RG as our new HC would be a dream come true!

If Joe had -any- real influence left in the say, he would be with us on this one. I am affraid to support this suggestion because just the fact that it makes sense and some of us support it might scare Danny the Clown about it.

By the way, news on Friday are no news. Anybody in the media business world knows that news are really news early in any week.

Huh, come on guys I love Grimm too. But, Snyder has not even spoken to him. Stop giving me false hopes. We all know what is going to happen.

I wasn't thinking about him when I typed that. Yeah, I'd be happy with him too.

Why would Grimm be any better than the rest of these clowns? The Danny should just coach the team his own damn self.

I think Grimm would be a great choice as a head coach, he's had plenty of experience as an assistant and was a front runner for the Steelers job last year.

Unless he is really desperate, why would he come here when his assistants have already been selected and it seems like the owner wants to hire a fall guy to "coach 'em up." I would hate to see a guy who was a part of the glory years of this franchise, disrespected that way.

i still dont understand why any coach would want to come here. we already have every single coaching position filled but HC. i dont know about those guys, but if i was going to be head coach of a team, i would want my own guys with me. not a bunch of people the owner hand picked.

The fact that he WAS a coach within the Steelers organization and they elected to go outside the organization to find a HC tells me that Grimm is not qualified. Do you really think that Rooney would let one of his own go if he knew he was worth anything? Think about it. Maybe I'm wrong, but it sure doesn't make too much sense.

Why wait til Monday when you can make headlines in the Sunday paper, and one up the Pro Bowl (which really doesn't take a lot to do). Jim Zorn - New HC!
