ARE as a punt returner

How in the world did ARE ever get a job in the NFL as a punt returner, or am I crazy. He seems to me to be one of the worse ever to hold the job with the Skins for any lenght of time. Or can't we block. What's your opinion.

Thrash had a couple of good returns when ARE was out wit the hammy so I don't think the blocking is the problem. I think ARE spends too much time looking for the big hole to break one instead of just going north and south and seeing what happens.

Yeah he dances too much.

At least he doesn't fumble...

I think he should be used less. Use him like once every other game or something like that. He seems to be best when he's not the normal guy.

Special teams also gets a bead on a guy and how to take him down in pre game file. They know ARL looks for holes so they have to say in lanes and come down and surround him. If they have someone that runs N/S most of the time, the coverage units will slide a little, because they know in that case they just have to get to the guy. That's when you bring in ARL as a change of pace. And IMO has a higher chance of breaking one.

I wish we would have used Rock like B Mitch. Hell, bring in B Mitch and have him work with the new guy.

Which leads to a larger question: Why wasn't or coached? or Is he coachable?

Can I get back to you on that one? I'm still thinking about it! Kudos to you for putting out such a difficult question.

ARE gets way too much mileage out of the one Super Bowl appearance he had with the Steelers. His talents are minimal, at best, and he's always trying to make that one big play, and it backfires on him. Instead of trying to make the ESPN highlight show, he should just take what he's given and get the most he can out of each kickoff without trying to take it to the house. With ARE, it's either all or nothing!

Not only that, but he must have the absolute WORST celebration routine of any NFL player. Reaching up into the sky and doing some sort of freaky swimming breast stroke impersonation? What the hell is up with that?
