PFT: Bill Belichick to the Redskins?

Some are speculating that the Redskins might be considering a run at Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who could be inclined to move on if his team secures its fourth Super Bowl win in seven years via a perfect 19-0 season.
But such speculation overlooks the fact that Belichick would want to run the show anywhere that he goes. In Washington, no coach is going to run the show -- as evidenced by the fact that the Redskins are already hiring the guys who'll be working for the coach who eventually is hired. This approach necessarily runs off any potential head coach who is inclined to call all of the shots.

No chance this is true, but if it were, no chance Danny and Vinnie tell Belicheck no on anything.

Not happening.. we have a better chance of going 19-0 next season than getting him to coach the Skins...

No chance this would happen. Why would he leave a perfect situation and his legacy behind? No way Jose.

Not that I want him to coach this team, but imagine his legacy if he turns the Skins into a multiple super bowl champ? I could see that being appealing to a guy with an ego as big as his.

That's a worse hire then Fassel in my opinion. I don't want a character flawed guy as my HC.
He's very successful because of Tom Brady. Hands down. How many Super Bowl's has he won without him?

Yes,true but its no where of an excuse to develop him while he was an rookie.

Chief, Are you serrious. You would rather have Fassel than Billy B. I'll be the first one to say there is noway in heck the Patsies win 4 SB (yes, Sunday is in the bag!) w/o Brady. BUt the same could be said of Billy B. I think the Patsies still win this year even w/o Brady and off course they would have won w/Brady and no Billy B.
I would love to see Billy B go to another team, because that would prove how much of a coaches legacy relies on his QBs.

I think he's a cheat, so yes, I am serious. Good or not, best ever or not, I still think you have to do what's right. In the end, he'll be remembered as much for the cheating as he will be for winning super bowls. I want a cheater less than a deadbeat as my coach. Deadbeats before Cheaters.

This is the most stupid proposal as I have seen from a paper at this stage of a guys career.
Why would BB want to come here after all that he has achieved and on top of a season like this?
Think about this for a second! How can anyone think that BB would stoop so low as to walk on his guys after all they gave him this season.
I think this guy is lower than dirt BUT there is no way he walks on this team.

Are you guys serious? There are people that actually wouldn't want Bill Belichick to come in here and take over this franchise??
This guy has won 3 Super Bowls (probably 4 as of Sunday) as a head coach and 2 more Super Bowls as a defensive coordinator with the Giants. He has 2 Super Bowl game plans in the Hall of Fame. He is a win away from coaching his franchise to the first 19-0 season in NFL history. His mastery over the draft year in and year out is incredible. His team is 18-0 and has a Top 10 pick coming in April. He's one of the greatest coaches in the history of football. We'd be extremely lucky to have him.

A sign that we are hiring BB is…if we start hiring extra cameramen.

I'd take him:
IF we couldn't get Gibbs
IF we couldn't get Lombardi
IF we couldn't get Walsh
IF he wasn't a cheat
You know what, I agree - if you can get him bring him in - he'd be just as good as anyone else we can bring in
Actually I think we have more chance of getting Gibbs back and I'd way prefer Gibbs over Belicheat - BB can win with those guys but he couldn't get these guys into the playoffs like Gibbs did - NOW if you gave Gibbs those guys in NE he would win .... and he wouldn't need to cheat.

Well Gibbs just stepped down for the second time and Walsh (overrated) and Lombardi are dead.
So that takes care of your first three qualifiers. Now on to the forth. Would you want Shawn Merriman (sp?) {we could have drafted him instead of stone hands - I mean CR}, Rodney Harrison, Lawrence Taylor or Dexter Manley (at their prime - not now). They all used performance enhancing drugs. That is cheating, right? SM and RH were on roids and LT and Dexter were hopped up on coke.
Way too much has been made of "camera gate"! You don't think George Allen spied - someone that paranoid about spies must have been spying himself.
Heck they rewarded Michael Irvin w/a bust in Canton and he made a living from cheating - his famous "separation stride"
All I'm saying is cheating is part of sports. Everyone tries to get away with breaking the rules. NASCAR fines people almost on a weekly basis for cheating. Basketball is full of people cheating! Palming the ball, taking 4 or 5 steps, moving picks, Shaq's famous butt push off. People "hold" on every play on the NFL. WRs push off if they can get away w/it. DBs will grab a guy to prevent a TD if they are beat. I saw Darrell more than once tackle a guy because he bit on a pump fake and he new he would give up a TD if he didn't tackle the guy before the ball was thrown.
Everyone should get off their high horse because cheating is simply part of the game. It is a game of what you can get away with. Watch the Patriots OL, they will commit many obvious holds on Sunday and won't get called once. They have been allowed to mug people all year and not get called, so I don't see that changing.

Sorry - I do not consider it a high or low position - fact is if you cheat and get caught you are by definition a cheater. That does not mean that if you cheat and do not get caught you are not a cheater - you just never got caught at it
A lot has been said about how "everyone does it" - fact of the matter is, the NFL has known for years (from what we are told

) that the teams do this and that some have been "caught" repeatedly (the Patriots being one) - The only difference I would like to point out is that ALL the teams were warned and the constant violators were told that the NFL was going to be looking at this really closely this year.

Bill Belicheat decided that he would continue to cheat and against a guy's team that probably knows him pretty well.
That is just stupid. So I will add to the first title - Bill Belichick is a stupid cheat.
The others are just cheaters

Coke as with grass are not performance enhancing drugs. They are banned because they are illegal. I won't argue this point.

Are you saying that he did??? I truely never knew he did that. I've lost a ton of respect for him as a person and a coach.
Heck they rewarded Michael Irvin w/a bust in Canton and he made a living from cheating - his famous "separation stride"

I would agree with you that Nascar is full of cheaters...that's why I don't watch that series. I'm also a gear head and know better.
I also ban Baseball. Don't go to the games, watch on TV, even read about in the paper. Couldn't even tell you who was in the World Series, and this comes from a HUGE baseball fan. The league is a disgrace, and not something I want my kids to learn from
Palming the ball, traveling, moving picks, push off's and the "separation Strides" are considered accepted parts of the game and are often called fouls or infractions. Video recording opposing teams signals or using drugs for an unfair advantage are considered cheating and are not accepted. I think if you argue this point, you're just on here to argue.
Everyone should get off their high horse because cheating is simply part of the game. It is a game of what you can get away with.
Unfortunately for you, that's sad that you think that.

You don't have to. Yes, you're right! "Coke" while technically not a PED, definately DOES ENHANCE YOUR PERFORMANCE.

No, I'm not saying Allen spied on anyone, just implying that he probably did. People tend to fear what they are guilty of.
I have never heard anyone ever say he spied, but you just don't get that paranoid unless...
Heck they rewarded Michael Irvin w/a bust in Canton and he made a living from cheating - his famous "separation stride"

You're right that the above things, while deffinately cheating are much more excepted than video taping. However, you would have to admit that the "play maker's" "seperation stride" won way more games for the Cowboys than any camera ever did for the Patriots!
You ask Darrell Green if Irvin's patentant push off was fair and if he thinks it affected the outcome of games. Heck, it got the "play maker" in the HoF.
Everyone should get off their high horse because cheating is simply part of the game. It is a game of what you can get away with.
chiefhog44 wrote:Unfortunately for you, that's sad that you think that.
I good w/how I feal. Cheating is cheating and the Patriots OL being allowed to constantly mug people has won the Patriots way more games then camera gate.

We live in an era of accepting the unacceptable; of justifying the unjustifiable; of winner takes all and 2nd place gets nothing. Not a very pleasant world when you think about it.
With honesty and integrity being the fisrt victims of total corruption, most, if not all of the country's problems (as well as the world at large) can be traced to these pitiful manifestations of our lower ideals. Cheating being a perfect example.
We should definitely expect it, but we should never accept it. And it is impossible to justify it by citing examples of it. Thousands or more are murdered each year......does that make murder acceptable?
I am rooting for the Giants BIG TIME to end this Patriot run at perfection without integrity.
