Snyder, owner of the Redskins, is up to something. Even though we all as redskins do not agree or understand at the moment.. I’m pretty sure he knows what hes doing. He wants to win obviously. He grew up a Redskins fan, and ends up buying his team. Imagen what you would do if you were the owner of the team you love. You would interview EVERYONE and upgrade EVERYTHING as possible, no matter what the cost. This man is intelligent. Regardless if you don’t think his football IQ is that great. I think it is. I trust in what hes doing honestly. I love my skins. i love them as if they were part of my family. These damn skins man. They make me so happy, but can make me so mad sometimes. What I think the man Snyder did, was watch all of our games from week 1 to week 17… and do you remember how you felt most of those losses we had?… WTF WAS THAT CALL!!!… and I guess that’s what Snyder felt again, and handled that situation. He brought in new/young blood into our family. I don’t want to wait years for it to work either.. but I’m pretty sure Snyder doesn’t want to either. But Mr. Daniel is up to something. He has the money obviously… shoot.. he’ll sell his whole house, his cars, his pets, and his boats to get the best head coach if that’s what it takes. He might be even be plotting for Belichick, who knows?.. Snyder is not rushing like every other owner is doing. He got our coordinators. He better have wrote into their contract of 60 hour weeks. and now we’re waiting on who’s going to run us into glory. My skins, your skins, for glory.

Other than bringing Joe Gibbs back, which can be interpreted to have been a marketing ploy more than a football decision, what else on earth has this man done to gain any confidence from anybody that his football IQ is in the double digits?

You and him do not understand that you cannot BUY A SUPERBOWL TROPHY. It is not the willingness to throw tons at money at anything that is going to guarantee any success. Quite the opposite and the RECORD shows blatantly this truth.

It is not about the MONEY.

It is about the WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE to appoint the best qualified individuals to manage the entire operations of the TEAM from the General Manager position, to scouting and player acquisition, to coaches and players UNDER THE CAP and GOOD DEPTH in the roster.

Daniel Snyder has consistently shown lack of restraint in spending irresponsible and wasteful amounts of money. He has shown lack of good judgment to select players himself. He has made poor coaching choices with one single exception. He has shown to us that he learned NOTHING from Joe Gibbs. He has surrounded himself from irresponsible and Machiavellian "yes" people who caress his ear and ego. He has disrespected fans, players and coaches in more ways than I can recount here.

But most importantly, he does not know that HE DOES NOT KNOW enough football to run this team himself. He is incompetent to qualify his own incompetence because his huge EGO prevents him from realising the obvious.

No, you did not have a dream. You were WISHFUL THINKING. I am just getting started.

Why is it always about money when it comes to defending Snyder? Snyder is proof that you don’t have to run an organization right or win in the NFL to make money. This isn’t baseball there’s a cap on the amount of money he can spend on players, yet he always gets credit for being willing to spend millions. What has he gotten in return….He is ready to hire his 6th coach in 9 years, a sub .500 record and three playoff appearances with a 2-3 record. I say that’s not horrible but it isn’t great either. I’d call it below average. We had the highest team payroll in 07 the Giants had the lowest. The Pats were second...how they doing?? The Bucs, Seahawks, Jags and Packers are all in the lower half.

When will Snyder connect the dots, and realize that the formula is somewhere in the middle. How many of our starters are home grown? On O we have Jason, Samuels, Jansen and ey. On D we are a little better Laron and you have to count ST, Rocky, Carlos Montgomery and Goldson. 7 of those guys were taken while Gibbs was here. (Scary to think about what would have happened without Gibbs). As for free agency…I won’t even go into that , there’s been good and bad but at the end of the day it’s been to much and has led to the high payroll. Why not build via the draft, let players make their names as Redskins, which will reduced payroll, and use that money to fill a few holes via free agency?? Winning is a powerful equalizer when it comes to money…The Pats and Colts are able to get and keep their talent because of winning guys are willing to restructure. Why is that so hard to understand??

And yet here are fretting over who will be the next coach??? Why?? Getting the next ‘great” coach for the Redskins, is like putting a band-Aid on a cut that needs stitches. Let just hope we stitch it before it needs a tourniquet!

Well, after much thought, I admit I've wondered if in fact Snyder is up to something. Firing both Saunders AND Williams just seems to be so irrational, especially after the continuity statement and the fact Gibbs and the players were lobbying for Williams. Is it wishful thinking as RiC points out? Probably, but I don't know, it all seems so odd.

Because we are mere mortals and not millionaire players or owners. Some young fans tend to equate a large, wasteful and irresponsible amount of money on an unproductive old player as sign of "a desire to win".

If they only knew that such moves are made at the expense of ROSTER DEPTH and at the expense to select and develop younger and hungrier players at a lower cost, they would see it otherwise.

And this this is the SCARRIEST part. The man is making many millions of dollars out of the business of CREATING EXPECTATIONS and CONSISTENTLY FAILING TO DELIVER RESULTS to the fans.

All he needs to do to keep his bottom line afloat is to create FURTHER EXPECTATIONS. He has a captive audience and an almost loyally blind fan base which cannot demand any ACCOUNTABILITY other than walking away from the stadium and stop spending any money on his "products".

There is no more incompetent person than the one who is not aware about the limits of his own incompetence.

I always viewed bringing back Gibbs as a last resort mesure on the part of Snyder. I figured at that time, Snyder had learned his lesson, but after the fiasco of the last few weeks I guess not.

I just do not understand that this guy can be so successful with almost everything and then behaves like he does with our team.

I am not a Snyder supporter. I do not think I could enjoy talking or spending much time with him, but he does own my favorite team and I have felt for a number of years that he gets a rough deal from the media. However, his actions and decisions lately have left me very disappointed.

As I have said a few times this past week - I am more concerned about the team's future than the present - I think we are not in bad shape as a result of what Gibbs achieved - we were in terrible shape, team wise, before Gibbs came in - we are on a path to recovery as far as the cap is concerned and we have most of our draft picks this year. With a couple of changes in players and game planning IMO the team actually could improve offensively and our defense only needs a couple of tweaks to remain in the top 10.

My concern is that I have no confidence in Cerrato and Snyder's ability to bring in the right people to both coach and play for this team. These 2 need Gibbs input and I just think that it has been obvious, by their actions, that they are not heeding it.

Following Gibbs retirement, I was trying to think of how we might be able to remain competitive and actually improve from where we left off - In my estimation that only happens if we do the following:

Get younger (add depth) through the draft this year and in the future
Bring in starters at a few positions through trades and free agency
Hire coaches that can continue to utilize the players and coaches that are here so that we can continue to get better without too many changes.

Good teams do a reasonable job in identifying who can help now and in the future on the field - these 2 bozos do not. I have very grave doubts that Cerrato and Snyder can do this - while not totally incompetent they have not made me very confident with their actions in the past with regards to the NFL and I do not think they are listening to Gibbs much, if at all.

So - I am just frustrated because we have an opportunity to continue to get better and I think we are competitive in the NFC East - the giants are playing in the Super Bowl, and they are 3rd or 4th in the NFC East in my opinion - Snyder just seems to be screwing things up and unless I'm mistaken, he and Cerrato are not following any advice from Gibbs who, while not that experienced in being a GM, offers a whole lot more than either of these 2.

I am not saying that he is totally to blame because he cannot take Snyder anywhere he does not want to go but this is what Cerrato did with the 49ers. They have still not recovered.

When's the last time they spent a crazy amount of money on an unproductive old player, RiC? Bruce Smith?

Lately, they've been spending money on young players, who generally are productive. Exceptions...and they're big ones, are AA and Lloyd...but they were young guys. The hiring the old, sad-sack player meme is dead.
