Possible yes, but I disagree with obvious. I think the signs point totally toward Spagnola unless he or Snyder end up not liking the other. Look at that we hired an OC and Snyder is holding up everything waiting for the Super Bowl. McDaniels is an offense guy, why hire an OC now unless you're planning a D based head coach? And why WAIT over another week to talk to another guy if you have your guy now? That makes no sense either.
I think that IF Spagnola doesn't work out it could well be Fassel. Sounds like Snyder liked him a lot. I am now agreeing GW's out.

I don't have a link, but on Sirius NFL radio they said Al Davis is now interested in Fassel. It would be a hoot if Kiffin left, the Radiers hired Fassel and Spagnola and McDaniel both told the danny to shove it!

I was actually thinking about this earlier. I think that it is very likely that both McDaniels and Spagnuolo pass on the job. McDaniels is young and why leave if now if you can win a couple of more Super Bowls with Brady. He also works in one of the most stable organizations in the NFL so why go work for Snyder. As for Spagnuolo, he isn't that experienced either. This is his first year as an OC. I wouldn't be at all surprised if like Jason Garrett he doesn't feel ready to be a head coach yet. And who knows how Snyder and Vinny will get along with him in an interview. So Snyder is taking a pretty big gamble here. If Fassell gets tired of waiting and takes another job, then Danny could be in big trouble in his coaching search.

Who cares how many they win. They're no longer the redskins. They're the Snyderskins. They might as well be an expansion team. By trouncing the seedling of a legacy and restoration started by Gibbs set up, Snyder has once and for all reinvented the team in his image. As a diehard who was heartbroken when the Skins lost superbowl seven, I've been at it that long, I swear this feels like the death of the Skins as I knew them. So who cares what the record is next year. Maybe I'm being melodramatic but it feels like the Skins of Allen, Gibbs, Kilmer, Jurgy, Green, and so on have finally been transformed into a rich brat's corporate play toy. I can't root for Snyder. He's an egocentric, yes man loving twerp and he's an embarassment to Washingtonians. I HOPE the Snyderskins go 0-16 so he sits in his owners box stamping his feet. I can't believe I feel that way - I'm in the market for a new team which is like saying part of my soul has died. Crazy. And just a few weeks ago when they made the playoffs I was as proud as I've ever been as a Skins fan.

I understand the pain and angst...believe me.
But you're going way overboard.
Just think of this: if it wasn't for Snyder, we would never have had 4 more years of Gibbs.
Yes, that's right. You owe Gibbs' return purely to Dan Snyder.

Boy we have a lot of DRAMA queens on this board. I am not happy with a lot of what is going on right now, but geez let's keep things in perspective.
Is the sky really falling? NO
I just hope they move training camp back to Carlisle PA or some other place away from Redskin Park - maybe somewhere in NC.

You could also argue that the team was in such disarray because of Snyder, that it forced Gibbs to come back.

Write this down...here are your wins. Arizona , Baltimore , Cinncinati , St Louis , New Orleans and the eagles home game. I predict LAST in the NFC, 6 - 10 overall . AND Jim Fassell run out of town after 1 season , ANY takers??

I don't care if we go 0-16 just give the next coach at least 3 years...that would show me Snyder has matured a little bit... by letting a coach (not named Gibbs) stay longer than 2 years

Actually our schedule is really easy, matching up with seattle's weak division (which is why they have home field every year) there is not a team on our schedule that we shouldn't beat....talent wise. Now HC is a big component.

I've got 7-9 with Snyder firing the head coach and paying Cowher an obscene amount of money to coach the team in 2009.

I agree with CANES , we do have an easy schedule next year (compared to last year ) and as for the bill cowher thing ? Baltimore wanted him , but in no way could afford him - but snyder .....maybee
