Maybe it's because teams that may not be the best teams in the conference keep representing the NFC in SB. I'm glad the Giants took out the Crackboys, but we've already seen what the Giants can do against the Pats. I would've rather seen a Packers?Pats SB. It just seems like certain teams in the NFC over recent years have been hot in the playoffs and probably have beaten teams that were actually better, only to go on to the SB and then show thier real colors.

And when you see the Giants reaching the Superbowl, you realise that it wasn't so far fetched after all, to believe that the Redskins could have made it.

The Giants may be the worst team to the get to the show since the last time they got there.

I'll still watch the game, but I think I may have to cheer for halftime. With any luck, somebody will accidentally fill the Gatorade barrel with sulphuric acid, and Belicik will get a shower he'll remember towards the end of the fourth quarter. Harsh? Maybe, but fair.

Interestingly it seemed the Pack was the ones who in the end were undone by the cold even though they were the better team. Favre was terrible late in the game. The Giants, Manning, the Giant receivers played lights out and yet it still took multiple Pack mistakes to lose it. Turnovers and trying to run with the ball instead of falling on it. Then again it's the Pack who made the choice where to play and to play outdoors, so you can't say they didn't deserve to lose if they let the cold get to them more then the Giants.

This year though I don't see any of the three (Crackboys, Pack, Giants) beating the Pats anyway. Brady had a bad game (for him) and yet they still were never really in danger.

Yes, I think the Pats are better than any of the NFC teams, I just think the Packers would've given them the best game. I know the Giants almost beat the Pats in the last regular saeason game, but somehow I just don't see the Giants making it that close this time around.

If we could select a team that could have beaten the Pats, I would have picked the pukes over the Packers - the Giants could give us an interesting game of it defensively but they cannot score enough points. In a nutshell, that is why I liked the other 2 teams over the giants - they can score.

I think the Patriots win this by 21 or more points.

Here's my ideal scenario.

Eli Manning throws 5 interceptions by halftime, getting benched for Jared "The Battleship" Lorenzen. Eli proceeds to sit on the bench and cry for the rest of the game.

The Giants, rallied by the gigantic one, end up winning the Superbowl, ending the Patriot's perfect season.

We get all wrapped up into one bundle: Eli Manning crying and the Patriots wasting their season.

It's beautiful.

We sent our #1 the last two year against their # 6 and # 2...How'd that work out

I guess when the NFC is represented by teams as piss-poor as the Bears and OceanChickens were, it's no wonder the AFC keeps winning. Where have all the dominant NFC teams gone like the Skins and 49ers of the 80's and the Crackboys of the 90's?

True. But man, it was cold. I grew up in Southern Michigan and I thought I knew cold. Cold for me was below zero at night and single digits in the day. I was in Ann Arbor (at the U of Michigan) for the coldest day ever in that city, high -5, low was in the -20s. Not the coldest day for that date, coldest ever. And not wind chill, straight temperature.

Anyway, I was going to classes and I had scarves wrapped around my head so about all I could see was if I was going to walk into a tree and I had to stop and keep covering my eyes because after awhile the cold would start to make them hurt.

I saw some segment on ESPN or something where they were saying the cold was overblown as a factor because they have all the warmers to put in your clothing and special fabrics and all that. But I tell you when it gets below some number your not used to whatever is exposed just hurts. And Favre did grow up in Mississippi. I'm not an Eli fan, but I have to admit that I was really impressed with how he dealt with the conditions. Watching him you'd have thought it was in the 30s. Favre looked like a half cooked goose. So did Caughlin.
