I respect his ability to lead men, but he needs to open up the play book earlier in the season. This past month it seems we were calling plays from a different play book.

I think this season took a toll on everyone. I'm sure he and Pat will sit down and talk about it. He still seems healthy so I think there is a good chance he'll be back.

Gibbs is great for this team. I would love to have him back.

Either way he has one more year.But I would like to re-sign him 3 more years hes becoming like his old self,in the superbowl days.

I'm sure he'll take some time to decide this and will seek input from his family and ownership.

To his great credit, Coach Gibbs is undeniably the touchstone and rallying point for this team...it's amazing how many players emphasize this in interviews. It is truly remarkable that, even in the face of so much adversity, he hasn't lost a single player; they genuinely want to play well for him and seem to feel remorse for letting him down with poor play. Many teams would simply have become numb and desensitized from this amount of emotional upheaval, but this team picked itself up off the canvas for a very improbable playoff appearance.

I don't think there's any way he walks away with one year still remaining on his initial deal, but I honestly don't think anyone at Redskins Park is psychologically or emotionally prepared to think beyond that point at the moment.

Gibbs seems like he's just starting to click. The players seem to love it here and want to stay. Unfortunately we were wiped out by injuries, but this team seems on the verge of being good. I can't imagine he brought us this far to quit now.

I sure hope so.

Joe Gibbs is good for football!

He's a classy guy who also happens to be a good NFL coach. Ahead of a coach who has the best strategies and tactical schemes, I'd rather have a upstanding, principled guy leading my team.

There are very few who can compare with JG in that category!

I think Gibbs will be back because he will honor his original contract. however, i wouldn't be shocked to see him out after next year. (unless we lose in the NFL championship game or the super bows )

I certainly hope Gibbs returns. In fact, I wish he could coach forever. Yes, not only the best coach in football, but a genuine "role model". Honest...I used to tell that to my son 15 and 20 years ago: one of the few, and, I'd say, we're lucky enough to have him as coach.

Same thing now.

However, Gibbs retired last time because he had insomnia and migraines through the last six or eight weeks of the season...just holding the '92 team together. I hope he comes back, and even re-signs.

Although I would like to see Gibbs retire on top right now and bring in someone like Cowher or Grimm, I would be fine if he came back.

I do see one of the old guard leaving. I just can't see Bugel and Breaux both coming back. If Breaux leaves, I see us just giving one of the current coach the OC tag. If Bugel leaves, I wonder is Snyder can think up some name like Super Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line and Running Game Coordinator so Russ Grimm can come. Dare to dream.

Bugel stays for as long as Joe stays. The minute Joe Leaves, Bugel goes. It is a package.

I am SURE that Joe will come back next year. I cannot tell you why. I just know for SURE.

I was reading some analysis done by Football Outsiders (who focus on metrics) for ESPN magazine today, and they called Joe Gibbs the best coach in the NFC without a doubt.

Right now Joe Gibbs is the best coach for this team, for these players, for this organisation and for this owner - there is no one else available or who has ever coached that could do as good a job as Joe Gibbs.

Now, let's hope he stays as the coach for at least this next season - I would be very surprised if he did not and especially given what has happened here recently.

personally i hope he honors his contract and then take it one game at a time or one season at a time.

joe is the best coach for this organization and so i hope he will stay for a few more years at least.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports Joe Gibbs is non-committal about returning as the Redskins' head coach in 2008.

Schefter reports that Gibbs' family definitely has a say in how he'll lean. Gibbs, who has one year left on his contract, will meet with owner Dan Snyder Monday evening. He reportedly wants to make a decision on his future as soon as possible, and a resolution could happen by Monday night.
