What do you think is the PRIMARY key to the game on Saturday

If you could pick ONE thing that you say is the key to a Redskins victory this Saturday, what would you say it is? ONE THING?
I'll kick it off (no pun intended), and I say it's for the Redskins to come out of the starting gates with passion and intensity, that might allow them to get an early lead. An early lead will go a long way to taking the famed "12th Man" out of the game! If the Redskins can take the crowd out of the game, they can play a more focused and intense game of football!!

Ball control, which means an efficiant offense. Looking back, a major contributing factor in the losses we've had is a tired defense. That resulted in an inefficient offense. If Collins and crew can run what they've been running since he took over, then we have EVERY right to be considered a contender for the big show!!

Seattle does have a good crowd no doubt. I want to see our defense come out and really pressure the QB. MH seems to get happy feet when he gets roughed up a little. I think we can take him out of his game early.

Scoring more points than our opponent.

Aside from stopping the run and being able to run the ball.. I feel the one thing the Skins have done during this run is draw first blood! I think it's important to get off to a quick start. If we score first I believe we win!!

I think the defense is the key to this game. Seattle is relying on the pass so heavily this season for whatever reason. Good coverage and lots of pressure on MH, and we should be in this game.

Pressure, pressure, pressure ===> which leads to not giving MH time to find targets; forcing Seattle to 3 and outs; keep their O off the field.
If we can do all this, the game will be ours.

Pass Protection. If we shut down the hawks pass rush we will win.

The Redskins allowed the 13th fewest sacks in the league (29) while playing eight games against top 10 pass rushing teams, including four against the Giants (first) and Dallas (third).

I agree but we will have our own 12th man #21.
Pass protection is the key. Give TC time to get the ball down field to streach the D. Then Let Portis run, run, run.

G'day JP! - I would agree - I do think getting an early lead and thus taking the incredibly loud crowd out of the game will help.
I do know that we will win if our defense can continue to play as it has - Limiting Dallas to 1 yard the whole game and actually minus yards for a lot of it with Jones and Barber playing and Romo trying to get anything going, ANYTHING

and not allowing a single first down on third down was also huge - I think the NFC, #1 seed went 0-12 on third downs
but yes - we need to get that crowd out of it and we will do that by stopping them on defense and scoring early (and often

) - if we can keep their offense off the field they will not score the points they need

Protection for Todd and lanes for Portis. One and the same thing, in a way.

Finding the Seacrow fan who said this on their fan site:
Sean Taylor was a punk ass little thug who's rotting in a box six feet underground as we speak. The only thing with more holes in it that his corpse is your defense.
and convincing the Seacrow braintrust to let him play Tight End this Saturday...
(Well, sure... it's not a key to victory, but it sure would make folks feel better...)

I would have to go with our defense dominating the game and creating turnovers. THis is what I hope for.
I can see Clinton Portis going for one hundred plus. I can also see Todd Collins going throwing an effecient game and two to three tds.

Contain Hasselbeck. We'll probly have to create some pressure to do so.

I agree 100% with pass protection being the key to this game. Pass rush is probably the strongest part of the Seattle game on defense, so stopping their rush will give Collins time to do what he's proven he can do. Keep Collins jersey clean, and we should win this game.
Second key will be to maintain aggressiveness on defense. Give Hasselbeck too much time and he can hurt you. Grass stains on Hasselbeck's jersey, and a nice clean one on Collins, and the Redskins win by 10.

1. Balanced offense in order to sustain drives and prevent the SeaChickens from getting in rhythm offensively
2. Be physical: take every opportunity to knock down and/or hurry Hasselbeck, and be physical at the line of scrimmage with the receivers
