Paid a Visit to Seahawk Message Board

I paid a visit to
www.seahawkshuddle.com
and was pretty unimpressed.
Every thread seemed to degenerate into pure smack. Almost all the posters really seemed to think we are lame and lucky. If the Seahawks themselves think this way they are in for a very rude awakening.
The only semi-good post I saw outlined this gameplan for the Seahawks: Pass early to get us out of the box. Once they spread us out they will run wild. Meanwhile, since Collins has never been in a pressure game in hostile conditions he will cave in the face of their monster D.
If they do come out throwing we need a combination of our run blitzes getting there and good tight man coverage from our secondary. Then, when they punt or turn it over we need to get enough of a lead to make them one-dimensional. Then we can finish them off.
Hats off to the creators of, moderators of, and posters to this site - the best I've seen yet - THN.

Visited... saw nothing but cliches ("rack him!), and one "Redskins fan" who was distressed that the Seahawks site pointed to THN as the Redskins fan site (because, he said, everyone knows that Extremeskins and it's 70000 strong is all that

)

...
Won't be going back.

Didn't I hear something on TV about the Seahawks only beating one team with a winning record. I know all the good games are over before these guys get out of bed, but they may want research our team a bit more. In the same segment as above they had us playing the hardest schedule in the NFL. Not based on teams final records, but what the opponnets records were at the time we played them.

We can always go back there after the game and the Seahawks have lost and remind them how bad this lousy Redskins team is.
On a serious note, seems to me that Collins has had 4 high pressure games in a row and has performed rather admirably. Outstanding in fact. Portis has done more than his share to earn the Come Back Player of the Year, unless you would rather put Moss up for it. As a team the Redskins have, a rookie actually, handled some of the premier pass rushers in the last couple weeks, has shut down the NFL's leading rusher, knocked off the division champions (don't give me that crap about not caring, the D handled Dallas's first string quite nicely, thank you.), handled the #2 team in the division also quite nicely and manhandled a team that was also a contender. Oh yea, they had won how many games in a row and how many of the "experts" picked them????

i really dont post just pretty much read......but this to me is a bit low for anyone
Sixth, Sean Taylor was a punk ass little thug who's rotting in a box six feet underground as we speak. The only thing with more holes in it that his corpse is your defense.
and the particular thread:

These seahawks have the worst fans ever. When there losing there crowd is quiet like lil bitches.Heck only reason they got fans is cause of there lil lucky records and not only that but Sean Taylor is better than almost 92% of all the NFL teams greatest safetys already.
(RIP TAYLOR )

I have to say that in all my years of running the site and the board, the Seahawks fans that came to the site when we played each other in the playoffs in 2005 - were easily the most immature, useless trolls to ever visit the site.
No posts of substance - not even any good smack - just a bunch of nanny nanny poo poos and lame ass bickering and rhetoric.
I will kindly remind you all that we do have rules here and moderators to look after those rules... so if a troll comes along - don't feed it.

That honor belongs to Philadephia fans -- and no other team's fans are nearly as depraved or as utterly lacking in class as Philadelphia fans.

True enough, but we only beat two: New York and Dallas. And while the Dallas game felt great, it will be much more rewarding if we beat them again in a game that matters to both teams. Fact is that Seattle and the Redskins both still have a lot to prove.
Here is why I think we will beat Seattle:
(1) Seattle hasn't had their backs against the wall at all this season. They are not battle tested.
(2) Alexander cannot run the ball this year, even against the weak NFC West.
(3) Our passing game is clicking now, whereas it was faltering at our last matchup 2 years ago.
(4) We have many players who were at that game two years ago, who remember the noise, and who know what the team will need to do to overcome the noise factor.
(5) Weather will not favor the home team. We overcame the wind in New York and rain at FedEx on the final game of the season. Bring it on again in Seattle.
(6) We are peaking but Seattle finished the last four games 2-2
(7) #21 is our twlfth man on the field.
(8) Since we don't have #21 in person, GW has stopped playing prevent defense and has started taking more risks. The players have stepped up and are playing good man coverage and forcing turnovers.
(9) Our front four are getting more pressure at this time of year than they did all season.
(10) Todd Collins is a starting caliber quarterback who is finally getting his shot. Other teams still do not have enough film to prepare for him. His perfect execution of the Saunders offense is showing the world the future of the Redskins offense.
Hail Redskins.

Please know that though I wrote this what I was really doing was quoting (not verbatum but close enough) a Seahawks fan posting.
I KNOW Collins has been in pressure games in hostile conditions. I was there.

That's exactly what I was going to write in this thread. That week was probably the worst moderating headache. . .but it's good to know that they run such a classy board over there I guess.

It was fun mocking them (in Smack, of course) as they were an easily angered lot with very little in the way of ammunition

Sounds like the fans have something in common with their team - not much experience with players who know what they're doing

Yes, you are right but in 2005 it was the same thing. The Seahawks had a very easy road to the playoffs and they still took out a Skins team that had been fighting to make the playoffs weeks before. Even though they had a easy schedule, it is gonna be VERY hard to beat a rested team in their house. This game and the situation is very simular to 2005. That said, I do feel a little more confident this year. Go Skins!

holes in our defense ,

i think you can ask the previous four teams about our defense and you might get a different answer all together.
thats too funny the nixon days.

The Seahawks were just lucky to be playing in a weak division this year.
Did anybody read that breakdown that the Skins played the second toughest schedule in the NFL this season (based on W-L records of their opponents)?

We also beat several teams with winning records at the time the games were played (Detroit, Arizona, and Minnesota).

Additionally, the worst team in the NFC East -- Philly at 8-8 -- is tied for the second-best record in the NFC West (with Arizona) which also features the 5-11 49ers and the 3-13 Rams.

Come on guys, the Seahawks fans who have come here stink. But the games against them are almost always close and hard-fought battles. This will be a close game.
My not very technical game plan: Take a good lead early and shut the crowd down.

I was impressed to see earlier that we finished the year with the highest opponent W/L % in the league at .555. (gbnreport.com) great site for draft info btw. they have us taking another Miami guy, Calais Campbell, in their current early projection.
The Seahawks had the lowest opponent W/L % in the league at .414 because they play the Rams, Cards, and 49ers twice each. They played only 2 playoff teams all year (Pittsburgh, Tampa), the most recent being the Steelers who destroyed them way back in October, 21-0.
Their fan site doesn't sound like a place to bother to visit.
