I'm Ready for a letdown..

8-8 would still be a fine season IMO. I have a strange feeling that the Cowboys will beat us. Even still, this has been a pretty good seaon, what we had to overcome with all the injuries and the death of our best player, I'd give it a B+.

If Minny, NO and the Skins lose the season won't be over.

well i do agree that 8-8 would be all right if you looked at the whole season and figured in the games we won that we should have lost and the games we lost that we could (just as easily) have won AND all the things that happened to this team :(

BUT - we were 5-3 and 8-8 does not seem right - no 10-6 or 11-5 would be closer to what we should be if records are all you go by

at this stage of the season on the NFC side we suddenly are the team that is playing the best football and I would not be surprised if we do not go to the NFC championship game - mainly because the other teams we have to beat do not match up well with us right now

just amazing that a team without a bunch of superstars and all pros (pro bowl players selections are a joke and do not mean anything at all) can be playing that well together that we can seriously be considered one of the best in the NFC right now

I am really proud of these players and coaches right now and 8-8 just does not seem right - I hope the pukes put their best guys out there on Sunday because they will then know that in 2 weeks we're coming down to pukesville, TX to go beat them again.

Of course we all hope you are wrong but it really wouldn't be a shock. If Green Bay had won and Dallas "needed" it too I'd somehow feel better. The idea of Brad Johnson beating us without TO makes me want to vomit. As long as we play smart and hard we should win.

Fingers crossed.

The game is at Fedex, TO's out, who knows if Romo will even play, or if for how long if he does play, Dallas has nothing to play for, the Skins have everything to play for, and the Skins almost beat them in Dallas with JC playing who wasn't playing as well as TC is right now. Now I know anything's possible, but the odds of the Skins winning this game must be far in favor of the Skins.

What are Romo's chances of playing? I can't see them pulling him without better cause than fear of injury. Dallas needs work and confidence, especially with T.O. out. They can't afford to sit back and take a loss.

They will want romo to get some reps with terry glenn who is finally returning from injury. Romo should play around a half. They also need to prepare an offensive gameplan without TO you never know they could be ina playoff game without him this year depending on his injury.

not sure if any of you saw this.... but vegas has made us a 9 1/2 point favorite this weekend. they are not banking on dallas putting up much of a fight.

We need to come after Romo from the very beginning, even if it means giving up a big play... we need to make them nervous and get him out of harms way...

The tough thing about playing a team that has nothing to lose is they're very hard to prepare for... very unpredictable... they could run fakes, they could go for it from anywhere on the field, they could throw deep on 3rd and inches... just like playing a 2-13 team, except unfortunately, these guys are pretty good...

They are good but IMO, its TO that puts them over the top from being just avg. They do still have a good WR corp. But the way Spring and Smoot have been playing as of late. I think they can cover these guys, and we should bring the pressure. Romo has shown that, under pressure, he's going to throw it up where TO should be. But TO won't be there this time. And if we keep knocking him down, they will want to take him out before he gets hurt.

I am aswell nervous about this game. The Cowboys would love to knock us out of the playoffs and Brad Johnson is not a bad backup. With all the media outlets talking about how the Cowboys will be resting players and it should be a win for the Skins, makes me feel uncomfortable. All signs do put in our favor but you never know. If we do make the playoffs, I like our chances against Seattle.

Exactly, and take away TO in that first game and we blank them. He scored all their points. I'm telling you people, even if Dallas tries to beat the Skins, I don't think they can. They barely beat the SKins IN DALLAS with ALL of their weapons, and they were trying their damnedest. Besides, the Skns are playing even better now than they did during the first matchup.

We've been in every game this year except NE, including Dallas and GB down to the wire on the road. Dallas comes to our house when we're playing well and have everything on the line, they have nothing on the line and probably will be sitting many of their starters all or part of the game and you go in thinking we lose? You have that little confidence in the team and you think it's been a decent season anyway? I don't get it. :hmm:

We are playing better than they are right now - it really does not matter what happened before - what is important in a football game is momentum and right now our players are playing with confidence in themselves and their coaches - our coaches and game planners are playing with confidence in themselves and their players - this is a very difficult combination - we have the desire and I believe we want this game, this week

I believe in the Skins. They put themselves in this position with hard work and inspired play. And I think they could beat any other team in the league right now, they are playing that well. Yep, division games are tough and the cowboys are the best team in the NFC, but our skins will give go full bore for the full 60 minutes. And because of that I know they have the skill and passion to be dominant in this game. I can't wait for Sunday! Week 17 and a meaningful game. Great time to be a Skins fan. Get it done guys!

They can't let me down this year.

After all we've been through this year, the mere fact that we are even being considered for the playoffs makes me proud of these guys.

Sure, sure we've had a lot of help by the fact that the entire NFC has been pretty lousy this year, but we have done so much more with so much less than we did last year.

These past three weeks have been some of the best I can remember as a fan. It's nice to have a confident feeling in my team again. The week building up to the Vikings I knew we were going to win it, instead of just hoping we would.

It's amazing how much that sense of dread weighs when you are not sure if your team has what it takes to even play. When you stand alone as the one optimist in the room wearing your jersey, hoping it brings enough luck that your team might just be able to pull it off. There are many on this board who know exactly what I'm talking about. Most of us have found ourselves having to defend our team at one point or another this year.

Citing all the injuries, citing the death of Sean Taylor, citing just one play in one game that the ball didn't bounce our way otherwise we'd have won it (I'm sure many of you are thinking of several games this year where that happened).

John Riggins made a speech in front of the home crowd before the Bears game, and at the end of that speech he said "and now we will watch the phoenix rise from the ashes". His words have become prophetic as we not only went on tp beat the Bears that night, we went on to beat the Giants, and Vikings as well.

I'll admit, I had a moment where I was ready to give up. It was just after the Bills game. We'll just write this season off and suffer the agony of yet another losing season.

Yet here we are, 8-7, with a real possibility of not only going 9-7, and making a wildcard berth, but being looked at as a serious contender in any game we play. Not just a punchline for the talking heads during pre-game. All things considered, after the Bills game, it really looked like we were looking at 5-11, maybe 6-10.

I'm proud of these guys. I'm am proud of this team, and most importantly, I'm proud to be their fan.

The Redskins are going to beat the Cowboys, Romo or Johnson, TO or no TO, period. We should have won the 1st game in Dallas, even with the unprecedented 4 TD's by TO, and this time we're at home with the playoffs on the line for us.

Right now...even with all of the injuries, and the loss of ST, we are playing as well as anyone in the NFC, and with a win Sunday, we will be playoff bound. With the slate clean, there is no one in the NFC that we cannot beat.....including the Packers who just got blown out by the Bears.

I said this early in the year....I have a strange feeling that we are going to play the Cowboys 3 times this year. Three more wins and we are in Texas Stadium playing the NFC championship and another trip to the Superbowl.

You gotta believe. I have this guy at work telling me that the Redskins will not make the playoffs and he has been saying it for the last month. I said right now they have a chance to make the playoffs, and as long as their mathmatically alive they have a chance. And right now we win were in. If NO, MN loses were in. The Redskins will be in the playoffs.

When we beat the pukes this Sunday, we then will be going to Seattle to play the #3 seed - then the next week we will be going back to Pukesville to correct that incident on our record this year - the following game will be for the NFC Championship

The Giants will go to Tampa and the winner of that gets Green Bay - at this time not one of those 3 is playing well enough to beat us

who would have believed that from the depths of despair in late November we are now one of the teams that can actually think we might be playing in the NFC Championship game

5 in a row - 1 game at a time

Ain't gonna happen. Dallas don't give a rat's a$$ about this game, and even if they did, I'm not so sure they could win it anyway.

I do like the fact that the other two teams (NO and Minn) are dome teams playing in frigid locales (Chicago and Denver, respectively).
