If Atlanta was smart they would drop Rich Mckay and hire Parcells. He still has an eye for talent.

Parcells drafted standout Demarcus Ware and Terrance Newman.

Geez I hate the Cowboyz but Demarcus and Terrance are both outstanding players.

I am hoping our team gets its pass rushing beast this draft.

I'm not going to give him credit for Ware. That one was too easy, but you are right he does still have an eye for talent. That whole team was Bill's creation minus Roy Williams and maybe a couple of other holdovers from before he got there. Now if Wade Phillips don't screw it up, or let TO screw it up, he can be the next Barry Switzer

Parcells does not know how to work as a number 2. It is way or the highway.

I very much doubt that he will be under Mackay unless he gets complete control. He would do a good job though. He would.

I think his official title will be "Guy Who We'll Break the Bank For, Only to See Him Back on TV in Two Years"

I think this could end up being a very good move for the Dolphins. I know the man hasn't shown a propensity to stick anywhere for too long but I think he might find the GM role more appealing at this point in his career.

FYI: I updated the thread title

I agree - very good move for the Dolphins - Parcells has a very good mind for football and for what makes a team be successful. When he joined the pukes they were using the 3-4 and the DC wanted to continue with that - Parcells as a defensive guy always liked the 4-3 but he said "you do what you think will be best for the team" He still can get it done,

His business manner is amazing - what he did to Blank and the Falcons was to me more than a little rude. Then I remember his dealings/shennanigans with the Buccaneers many years ago, and then I think of all his other con jobs and you wonder when are these owners going to wake up to this scum :puke: - this guy is a whore in how he treats his peers.

I wish the Dolphins well and hope Gibbs takes up a similar position here when he is done but Parcells is a dirt bag and I'm glad he is not with our team.

Parcells in Miami?

Is that what they mean when they refer to Dolphin safe Tuna?

I tell you what. I give the Dolphins two years and they will be in the playoffs again. The Patriots better enjoy now being the bully of that division.

I am certainly happy about this move. I hope Parcells brings the Patriots reighn to a halt.

Remember when Parcells told Bob Kraft that if you want me to be the chef then you have to let me select the ingredients I need - I wonder if that means that he will now let his coach select the ingredients for this team - NOT - I am sure he will do well but I cannot stand his morals - this guy cannot even lie straight in bed

I am also happy that he gets to play against BB 2 times each year - what 2 great examples of humanity those 2 are. A cheat and a guy whose word is worth nothing.

I'd say (1) the next Art Monk...although they don't make them like Art Monk anymore. That's why he belongs in the Hall of Fame. Right: as someone (me???) said before, I'd take another Art Monk before another Jerry Rice. See discussion comparing Charley -- the all-time best -- with Rice, the new statistical champ.

(2) Next Charles Mann before Dexter...although Dexter would out-play nearly anybody in the current NFL. Oh, to have Mann and Manley clones at either DE!!

(Actually, this part of the exchange probably belongs in Hogwash, but...)

Mann was a beast. Id take a clone of Mann or Manley. Yes are right they dont make them like Monk anymore.

I know one of the main reason Gibbs won three SuperBowls with three different QBs was the posse.

All though the Qbs changed the posse remained steady. Monk being the leader that he was. Monk should definatley be in the hall. I have a feeling it should be soon.

Got that backwards there, champ. Parcells wanted to run the 3-4 but really couldn't until Ware, Spears and Canty were drafted along with the signing of Jason Ferguson.

And to the guy who won't give him credit for Ware, you're lost.

I completly agree with you. I can't stand the Cowboys but I do have to say that Parcells did a heck of a job in putting the Cowboys together. The drafts that he did and the free agents.
